Luke, really like the looks of this. Your presentation is always super so I'm sure this will be too.
One suggestion, if I may? Could you lengthen the front siding with the water tower and run it in front of the sector plate (which would be closed off by a backscene)? Something like this... the sector plate is behind the row of terraced houses.

Not going to lie, Luke, but I'm gutted to see Cronton in such a state.
I am, however, excited for what the new build will look like.

Fab. U. Lous.
Great work, the bunkers do it for me.

Question regarding the PLA Peckett. Does anyone know which colour it is? I'm wondering if Humbrol 15 (Midnight Blue) would be a good match?

Hahaha we'll see what happens. I quite like the idea of rebuilding and extending cronton colliery sheds.
I like that idea too!!

'providing an illusion to deceive where the baseboard ends and the back-scene starts'
It really does. Wonderful modelling.

Excellent model. I have that kit myself - as part of a longer term modelling project - and it's great to see what results can be achieved.

Never visited?
Should have read the title!!
There's one in Stafford, Topps Trains, that I've never set foot in!

For me, living in Shropshire just off the A41, it's Trident Trains. An excellent shop about 15 miles from me.

Wish I'd not cancelled my preorder.
Might have to reorder.
Looks excellent.
Thought about it for... Oh, a nanosecond. Now ordered with Derails. Going to move on an 009 loco to replace it with though.
Can't wait.

Great idea. I'm trying to free up some space in my home office and something similar would work well.
Super work.

Good start, Callum. I'm planning a micro in one of these boxes myself, using 009 like yourself. Surprising amount of space in that scale.

Quick glance through indicates lots of interest. The Welshpool Railway model particularly stands out.

Ordered a carriage on Wednesday morning. Arrived home yesterday to see it waiting.
First time customer. Mightily impressed.

That last photo is super, Luke.

I personally wouldn't use the crane over the point either. A grounded van sounds a wonderfully suitable alternative.
Looking good.

I visited the Hobbycraft at Bridgmere garden centre near Crewe yesterday and took away the last of their £12.50 train sets. Agreed, there's plenty of very useful other items there too, at good prices, but I was very short of time so will be returning tomorrow.
That answers the question of whether I head there for a look today. Perhaps a trip to the Telford branch instead.

Interesting article. I have previously held subs with both MR and RM. However, I recently ditched them and now subs to NGIRMR. If I see another mag I like during a month, I pick up a print copy.
I've tried online issues but, like books on Kindles etc, find I don't take in the info as well. Sitting with a mag, a cup of tea and chocolate digestive can be the perfect end to a day.

An embankment with a colliery building on? Search for Creech Bottom by James Hilton as the left hand side of his 009 layout does this beautifully.
