  1. Hi Mick, What code track is Newbryford? Some of the tanks have still got the Lima pizza cutters under them. Cheers, Phil.
  2. The handwheels will have to stay until I get some more to match the wagons I've already done. Will make my mind up about fitting brake disks when I see them running. Otherwise they're finished. Cheers, Phil.
  3. IIRC from previous 'plays' with powders, they tend to go slightly darker when varnish is sprayed over them. Hopefully I will find out fairly soon, I've managed to do all 7 wagons over the last couple of hours. Pics after varnishing is complete. Cheers, Phil.
  4. Hi Ali, KWA is looking good, I filed the ridges off mine. I used the supplied washers, 1 between the body and bogie, but found the wagon wobbled slightly as it ran.(this may be due to the weight of the bulldozer load) I managed to find some different washers that are the same thickness as the originals, but approximately the same diameter as the ridges i'd filed off. No more wobble Cheers, Phil.
  5. First wagon been weathered with powders. Pics for comparison. Cheers, Phil.
  6. Next time I go in the loft i'll get my old spotting books down and see if I can find a date for the pics Cheers, Phil.
  7. I don't know if some had a different type of suspension. I do know that on the numbers I have used from the railtec transfer sheet, the suspension on the models matches the suspension type on the prototype pics I have of each wagon. ( certainly close enough for me !! ) Cheers, Phil.
  8. I did think of you while I was typing that ! Cheers, Phil.
  9. The only other information I can add about the pics in Cardiff is that, in the first pic the bloke sat on the wall is my Uncle Alan ! Cheers, Phil.
  10. I'm not too familiar with the variations, I've just added the detail parts to the models, and copied the transfer positions from the pics I have of the individual wagons. 2 or 3 of this batch of wagons are repainted Albright & Wilson models. A couple of them started out Yellow. Cheers, Phil.
  11. First stage of weathering complete, airbrushing the chassis area. I'll use powders for the body area. Cheers, Phil.
  12. All back on their chassis', just waiting for weathering. Cheers, Phil.
  13. I may well have seen you there Jim! Then sandwiches for lunch, in the station carpark, overlooking the avoiding lines, before an afternoon on the station. I have still got some truly terrible pics from those days!! Cheers, Phil.
  14. In 1969 I was -4 years old ! Did go on plenty of the Sunday morning works tours as a kid, always guided round by the little bloke in a long black coat and trilby Happy days. Cheers, Phil.
  15. Still cant believe this is the same place !! Cheers, Phil.
  16. Managed to get the transfers on and varnished over the last few days. Still need to source some brake discs and replacement handwheels for these. Cheers, Phil.
  17. Can't think of too many places to see a line-up of 5 (working!) 47's these days !! Cheers, Phil.
  18. No room for a full length HST? No problem !! Cheers, Phil.
  19. So, thanks to a recent delivery of transfers from Railtec transfers (cheers Steve!), I can turn this pile of parts into a cement train. Or more correctly, add some Vee tanks to the half-rake I've already got. Cheers, Phil.
  20. Hi Ali, I was a little reluctant to use the screw method of securing the bogies on the KWA, but my original one has done a fair few miles so far, with no issues. Cheers, Phil.
  21. The KWA is built, I would say 'finished', but I'm never quite sure of that until I've seen it running round a layout ! Cheers, Phil.
