  1. Clive. Me again! I've looked closely at you picture of the track and think it's a great bit of work. However, looking even more closely it is clearly .3mm too narrow. Come on. Own up. You've gone and tried 00sf. :) Dave
  2. . Clive, Clive, Clive. Oh Clive. Wrong layout mate! Harton Gill is built to the new gauge(not yet in Tamplot) 00vw (00 very wide) It's 16.5+2.33. Falcon Road TMD & Oil Drum Lane is 16.2mm. I still love you though. :sarcastichand: :mosking: Dave
  3. I'm FREE, FREE I tell you. I'm allowed to do what I want at last!!
  4. And still our P4 mate is interested in 00-sf. Blimey Keith. You'll be having a go at building some to test it out soon!! Keep your P4 gauges though. They'll help set the Third Rail. :mosking: Dave
  5. Hello, what ever you name might be. Are you referring to me, when you mention building plain track to 16.2mm? Whether you are or not, the reason I build all track in 16.2 is that this is the gauge I have gauges for. The reason I have the gauges is because I needed them to build pointwork. For me, using Templot (and subsequently 16.2) was that a new layout needed building at our Club and I was completely fed up with the crappy track available off-the-shelf. I wanted proper panels of track etc., etc just like P4. A number of members were already well into 00 with fair amounts of stock, so considering EM or P4 was out of the question. So I suppose that I am a serious track builder that couldn't consider P4. On another note, it does surprise me that someone might need a template to increase the gauge of track by 0.3mm. The big question, of course is, do you move one rail .3mm or two rails each by .15mm. Personally, if I had to do this, I would move both rails on the point by 0.075 and both rails on the end of the RTR flex track inwards by the same amount. (Hope my maths hasn't let me down there). I can see another 200 posts coming on this one subject alone. Cheers. Dave. Posted by someone who doesn't mind using their real name in a post.
  6. Richard! Now you've annoyed me What do I tell everyone my scale/gauge is? All my track is 16.2mm. Am I gauge narrowed throughout. That would make the description '0016.5' Gauge narrowed thought to 16.2mm. A bit long winded for an exhibition programme or the front of the layout 'title'.
  7. This is somewhat annoying, really. I've only just come over from posting on Andy R's missive about an American Convention, asking if he had told them about the advances made in better running here in the UK and I find the name's changed in the meanwhile. I'll have to go back now and notify him of the change.
  8. Thanks for those, Bob. Glad you enjoyed the layout. Should have said hello! Regards. Dave. Ps. We're at Aldershot in October.
  9. The Transfesa livery on the VIX Hornby vans is fictisious I believe. Dave.
  10. Hi All. Thought I'd post some pics that others don't seem to have done. Hope these help some of you with questions that have been posed. One end of the chassis is shaped to take a round speaker. Dave
  11. I've managed to get a couple of new wagons ready for the show at Woking this weekend. Only two I hear you say! Had other things to do. Dave
  12. Trying to get some facias and LED lighting ready for the weekend show at Woking. Dave
  13. Very interesting. S S. Believe it or not, I'm a toy collector! Dave.
  14. I've asked that question, but no reply, of course. Not prepared to give his real name either! Dave
  15. Ravenser. How about answering the original question please. At least have the courtesy. We're now on post #130 just to answer a simple question!!!!!! By the way Ravenser, what's your name? Dave
  16. Joseph. What I meant was that as soon as Ravenser posts, there is a bunch on replies usually trying to explain/show why his views are flawed. All this just prolongs the thread. It's about why to use 00sf and not why not to use 00sf. I can just see Ravenser and others who agree with him, sitting there wringing their hands together in joy at disturbing any thread about this gauge. Dave
  17. Even Keith Norgrove, P4 modeller, is interested in 00sf now!! Dave
  18. Ha ha. You all fall for it when Ravenser posts! I don't need to read his posts any more because I can tell by others reactionsto them. Why bother. We know 00sf so why continue to argue our case. He, Ravenser, thrives on it all. No disrespect but sorry guys, you've been suckered. Dave
  19. Hi Guys Just got mine today in the post, ordered from eHattons on Thursday. All I can say is WOW! Dave
  20. As you will see, there was an odd wall and green embankment on one corner of the layout. This was a left over from when the layout ended at this point, but the Oil Drum Lane (yard) extension, left this looking rather odd. Behind it on Oil Drum Lane was a factory entrance with tracks in concrete (see earlier photos). This looked really wrong, so a low relief warehouse has been constructed. It's an extended Scalescenes kit. On the siding next to the 'main line' the warehouse has a somewhat derelict look with an old planked loading dock now breaking up and collapsing. Come and see us at the REC show at Woking 12/13th Sept or the Farnham show at Aldershot 10/11 October. Cheers Dave Carshalton & Sutton MRC
