  1. Hi Ron, Great to hear you now have the relevant permission to start work on your railway room, hopefully this won't interfere with your modelling or are we going to be treated to daily updates on this build as well Colin
  2. Hi Ron, He didn't quite understand that you had cut each part to size, it was when I showed him the picture of he train shed roof with part of your viaduct in the background and I told him that was a 'small' part of what you had constructed did he grasp what you had been doing. Colin
  3. Hi Ron, I just keep watching in awe at your work, how long do you reckon before you get your etches done and for them to be fitted? Also showed it to one of our club members last week, he orignally thought it was a kit but was stunned when I told him it was scratchbuilt. Colin
  4. Hi Ron, Have to say that your train shed roof looks stunning now and can only imagine how it will look once it is finished. Colin
  5. Hi Ron, If your track building is anything like your viaduct/trainshed roof building is, that track will look stunning. Can I ask if the trainshed roof is to permanently fixed after you have done the trackwork to go underneath it or will part of it or all of it be removable to get inside? Colin
  6. NIce to see some pictures from inside what was the train shed, can certainly imagine Jubillee's waiting to depart. Colin
  7. Hi Ron, Thanks for the thanks, it's nice to see who appreciates what you post on here, even if they don't comment on it. If you are under orders to complete both the train shed roof and the viaduct now, how long before you will be told to start getting the baseboards ready to fix the structures to (think there are a few people who read this waiting to see the baseboards under construction as well ) I take it the train shed roof was kept in small segments purely for storage. Colin
  8. Hi Ron, those spans look great, and it's good to know you got your storage permission sorted out. Will be good to watch another aspect of your project take shape. Colin
  9. Great shot of the Vulcan Damian. If you are going to put the Vulcan sounds on the layout, make it the howl of one climbing from take off can you Colin
  10. Can people please stop mentioning pies or pasties, your making me hungry Colin
  11. Can I just say that I like this new format on the RM Web as it allows us to see who has clicked the like button, for whatever has been put on here and I would just like to say thank you, as it can be hard to decide what to put on here as we aren't doing major work to the layout(the fiddleyard points being the first since we acquired the layout) If anyone would like to know more about the layout, let me know and I will try and come up with the answer to the best of my knowledge! Colin
  12. Have started the preparation work on the fiddleyard that will take the new point motors and track selecting control this week, we will be looking to fit it in October when we put the layout up next, we will be doing this to get it ready for its next outing which will be at Brighton in November. Colin
  13. Hi Rod, Thanks for putting those pictures of DitD up, like the third one of the turntable showing the building that Chris has just finished, in place on the layout. Colin
  14. Hi Ron, I don't know how we haven't run out of superlatives for your work on here. The viaduct is going to be absolutely stunning by the time it is finished and they are all put together (thats going to be some set of photos to wait for). Have you asked your local supermarket to increase their orders for cans of beer in the near future yet for more loading? Colin

  16. I also take the Airfix aircraft/ships modelling route away from railways. Colin
  17. Will look forward to seeing it in the Modeller Simon, the layout looks very photogenic so should be some good pics to go with the article. Colin
  18. Hi Simon, The engine shed looks better now with the vents on the roof. Colin
  19. Going by those pics Ron, by the time you have completed the entire viaduct you will probably want about 8 or more crates for load testing Colin
  20. Hope someone remembers a camera to get some shots of your completed building in situ. Colin
  21. I think a couple of crates will be required by the time Ron has finished this one looking good with the lattice sides attached Ron Colin
  22. What a great layout. I like the overall view picture as it gives you a perspective on the actual size of the layout and the detail. Colin
