  1. Some cracking photo's especially the class 40 in the train shed wonderful
  2. Just so sad and the lose of real talent and at no age to be honest RIP.
  3. Excellent buildings which do capture the atmospheric feel of a dairy 'back on the day' will follow you progress with interest and encouragement.
  4. Sorry I should have clarified that post better as I was refering to turnouts in people choosen gauge.
  5. Maybe it's time for the EM gauge society or P4 whatever to commission someone to produce ready to run track as this seems to be the 'buzz' thing to do nowerdays. I still think there will have to be some hand building going on to get turnouts to fit a defined location.
  6. That is a very sensible statement Richard and it's good that you have made the point early on
  7. By the sound of you current research you have probably found most of the information that's out there. With regard to the last period of the line back in the late 80's the final nail in the coffin was the fact gypsies were robbing track near the new Chester by pass at Hoole and a safety case kicked in resulting in the lifting of the line.
  8. It is very refreshing to see some common sense being applied to the very thorny subject of model railway track work and it would appear that DCC Concepts are trying to offer a fairly comprehensive range of turnouts which is brilliant news. Good for you and I wish you luck in this new development. I think that is going to be a VERY interesting thread to follow .............................
  9. I can relate to your problem although not with the fruit van but with some of the Dapol normal wagons which I too have had derailment problems. I have normally found that it is due to a very slight twist within the chassis which in many cases is caused by a badly fitted weight which on inspection has become bent which in turn has been as a result of the 'over sized' retaining screw being badly fitted. I have found that the best way to cue the problem is to remove the weight and add my own in the form of lead shot glued within the van body, this also gets over the other problem that Dapol wagons that on the whole they are far to light in the first place.
  10. I was also wondering the same any news yet and has there been any sound projects proposed
  11. I agree with the cattle dock modifications does make a good focal point. Superb picture from Andy of the disused cattle pens or has a bill for loose Should read BULL
