    An evenings searching and the county wheels are still mia, no doubt to finally show themselves when I buy replacements. For now a set of P4 45xx wheels are in use as a substitute for mid build testing

    Power cut 2 minutes before the end of a kit built finney or mallard bulldog on eBay looses the internet (in a mobile black spot). Not happy!

    Hornby King's wiring is such a mess of short circuits and shoddy quality. Tomorrow's job is to rip it all out and wire it myself!

    DCC chip fitted to a King, programmed and the loco won't work.....

      Going to strip out the decoder and check again on DC tomorrow, I just find it very strange that it does all the usual noises etc when programming, acts as though it's successfully programmed and then doesn't work.

    If you are going to be building coach and wagon kits, and be messing about with brass, plasticard and lost wax, does one need a Dremel?

      I should have added, if you do go for a Dremel I'd recommend having a look at their drill stand to go with it. Having seen others using them it was a great alternative to a full pillar drill (and great for ensuring holes are drilled perfectly straight)

      nice to have but not critical, I have one and havent used it in the past year on any of the etched kits that i have been building, or the RTR coach conversions.

      Personally if it was a choice between a Dremmel or more kits, I would go with the latter.

      If they get rid of the stupid design on the number plate I will rethink maybe adding one, but having now got 2 Hornby Kings for the price of one DJM I'm quite happy.

      Now to get rid of those logos....

      To be fair it's only the past year I've started travelling regularly by train. But still pretty good going. They have finally backed the stuck HST back into Stroud, now going to Gloucester wrong road and on to london via Bristol. Hopefully I will still make my flight (given BA only fly to Sevilla once a day)
