  1. Hi Marc, yes please, I'd love to see the snaps when you get a minute! I'll pencil in the L&B weekend & look forward to seeing the layout then! And unfortunately, you're right, I didn't actually miss 5 star, just wished I had...!! ATB Keef
  2. Hello Marc, Hope you are well. For some reason my e-mail notifications suddenly started arriving again, so I've been able to spend a happy half hour reading through what I've missed & to see yet another stunning little layout has arrived from Smith Works!! It looks tremendous, can't wait to see the wet version! I keep having these ideas of what I'd like to do with my layout if (when??!!) I ever get round to progressing it some more, & setting it on a grim, wet, winter day is something I often come back to, so I'll be very interested to see how it turns out! Do you know if there's a show at L&B again this year, & if there is will this little gem be there?? All the best Keef PS - who were 5 star? Must have been before my time.....
  3. Hi Marc, Hope you had a good Christmas & New Year?! Your scenics look terrific again, really nice work! I love the pigpen! The layout's coming along really nicely! Sorry I haven't posted before, but haven't spent as much time as usual on t'internet recently & for some reason I've stopped receiving any e-mail notifications of thread updates from the board....?? Keith
  4. I wouldn't mind knowing who he is too! (perhaps you should ask for commission.....??!!) Keef
  5. Thanks both Brians - I believe that was indeed the train I read about! And now back to Marc's regular scheduling.... Keef
  6. Thanks for the link Marc. Didn't need any of the loads yet, but I bought a pack of his pre-wired rail joiners. Soon pay for themselves in the reduction of burnt fingers & all the ones I throw away when I try to solder them (rail joiners that is, not fingers!!) Love the pics from ASW - is that in the same area as Cardiff Tidal? I think it was in regard to the latter that I read an internet post this week of a 66 running around it's train & brake van (my italics!) prior to propelling it down 'the branch'! Have you ever witnessed such a working? Didn't think there were any brake vans left in revenue service?! Any updates on your locos?! Keef
  7. Focus? What's that??!! Only Focus I have is the thing I have to drive...!! I know what you mean though Marc, & I've decided to totally ignore the lure of the steelworks & stick with what I'd already decided. I think....!! (However, I do know that even if I now have a grudging respect for 66's, I won't be buying any, not when there are 37's to get....!!) Anyway, I won't take up any more of your thread other than to say I'm looking forward to your progress! Keef
  8. Hi Marc, Just found this thread & it looks like this is going to be another cracker of a layout! I really like your wagons, & that building is none to shabby either (except that it's meant to be shabby isn't it.....well, I guess you know what I mean!! ) I've finally managed to get a 5 foot & a bit foamboard baseboard finished & had thought I'd finally settled on a suitable track layout for it. Then I started spending too much time hanging around Knuckle Yard & I find myself actually starting to like 66's (I think being able to stand so close to them at rail level may have altered my perspective!!) - so my best laid plans have gone out the window again - & here I find you now building a steelworks insprired layout & I'm thinking of changing my mind again - aaaargggh!!! But I think a layout based on Knuckle in anything less than an aircraft hangar may be a bit of a struggle....?! Looking forward to seeing this one progress (especially when you get the loco's done!) - & maybe at L&B next year....??!! All the best Keef
