  1. And here it is moving, in the excellent (for it's time) BR advert; I'd seen the Rozzer's Tractor before, but this T&T Duff is a new one on me; New sub-shed at St Blazey - The Police Station....??!!
  2. They were available as aftermarket replacements a fair while before they became standard on road cars - they were a requirement for stage rally cars in the 70's, maybe even earlier. (according to Wiki laminated glass was first produced in 1903 & Ford were using 600,000 square feet a year by 1939 - which sounds like a lot of screens given the smaller size of most car windscreens back then!!)
  3. This one perchance? http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=1291919
  4. Unless the owner had had a toughened one shatter & replaced it with a laminated one! They were about in the 70's, I had to fit them to my rally cars....
  5. Which topic is this? They all seem to be merging into one....!!
  6. That was actually in 2007 - don't know why it appeared on the BBC News website again this week!! Slow news day?!
  7. Easy to get lost in Wales, even us locals don't understand most of the signs....!!
  8. Well, I never knew that - she's only 3 years younger than me. She's aged a hell of a lot better though....!! And i still think she's gorgeous...!!
  9. Yep, off you go - have one for me too! I haven't really been taking much notice of making track since my last abortive effort. Plastic bits & glue seem a lot more pleasant than trying to solder rail to rivets pushed into plywood sleepers! Ta for the info.
  10. Pub? Great idea - but before you go, my first stupid question - what are the sleepers made of? As mentioned on DitD my one & only attempt at point building used plywood, IIRC 1mm thick. What you're using looks like plastic?
  11. I look forward to seeing that (I'm already watching yours & Mr. Spams' 7mm threads, even though I keep telling myself I shouldn't lest temptation become too much!) - I did make (well attemted to make) one plywood sleepered point yonks ago,but got in such a mess fiddling with the tie bar that the rest basically fell to pieces! That was my one & only try - maybe it's time for another?!
  12. With good reason I think! As someone who has trouble laying a peco point straight out of the box, I can appreciate the difference in the work in that! The trackwork looks really good, & so much more prototypical than the aforementioned out of the box stuff!
  13. Well, if they're all replaced by 70's or something equally as hideous......
  14. Blown up mercilessly to 500% cropped & fiddled with using my basic Windows software, it looks like 'Peter' in some sort of hand written 'font' Keith PS - sent you a PM
  15. Excellent models - & finished so quickly! I'd still be thinking of starting them!
  16. Excellent Mr. Spams - I have bookmarked your excellent tutorial for use when I take my first foray into bending brassy things! It will be of invaluable help I'm sure! I hope you don't mind me mentioning to Mr. Stubby, that if you have ESET anti-virus installed, when you click on his 'bespoke building' link, you get this message; "Access to the web page was blocked by ESET Smart Security. The web page is on the list of websites with potentially dangerous content." I wonder what exactly he's building in there.....?!
  17. Could have been options - I seem to recall that most external mirrors were optional or aftermarket fitted back then? I certainly remember putting a drivers door mirror on my first Mk1 Escort - & then taking it off when I sold it to put it on the next one. And the next one. And the.....!!
  18. It still looks brilliant Marc - shame you can't post the sound effects too (but I suppose I could always open the window today!!) keith

I'm glad you posted the pic., as otherwise, in my ignorance, I would have thought he's a Blackbird who's beak has gone haywire! I don't really get a sense of his size from the pic., is he about Blackbird size? I do like birds, & really should make an effort to learn some more about the species we have here. Keith
