Has anybody received accommodation details yet please?
Many thanks,
Dave.

Has anyone tried foam gym matting to stand on behind your layout? Thinking about the fatigue of two days standing on a concrete floor!
Thanks,
Dave.

Great photos. It’s a bit more overgrown now but a few years ago I did trundle along it in the van one day.Looks like I wasn’t the only one either…
Last time I passed there was a very large log/tree trunk across the siding to discourage drivers. The line was concreted to allow tractors to pull or push wagons along it.
You may be interested to know that the mill has been completely removed, the river reinstated and the area undergone an award-winning "Regeneration".
Some interesting articles HERE including an aerial film of the location. Looks like a lot of the internal rail sidings are still there.

Quite a few people mentioned about the release of the Lionheart Manning and Wardle. Our response 'like this one'. I had mine behind the layout and it became quite a talking point. None were on sale at the show and no signs of the coaches either that being good for my wallet.
A very slippery slope......!

I am constantly in admiration of the work that goes into the L&B coach restoration/construction, A stunning example of classic coachwork.

"Only 12-percent of ticket sales"??? 12 percent must represent a HUGE number of ticket sales! If it was 1.2-percent then i could understand this.
The whole affair is looking more and more like a deliberate PR stunt, cooked up to try and make the Tories look good, look like "The Peoples Friend" when they are anything but!

Its not rocket science - if your staff feel undervalued, bullied and generally treated like a leaf blower treats leaves then that is going to manifest itself in poor customer service.
All across the industry front line staff are feeling utterly demoralised in the face of DFT intransigence and bosses whose mission seems to be to brown nose the politicians or Whitehall mandarins for the sake of their own careers while the industry and its infrastructure continues to fall apart.
Good managers like Adrian Shooter, Criss Green and Mark Hopwood know this and its why if they are left to do their thing then you will find by and large the organisations they used to run treated their staff well
I used to work in an establishment that carried out research in this area, and results consistently showed this. As you say its not rocket science.
But everywhere you look the opposite is happening. Then employers complain there are staff-shortages, poor service, strikes etc!

I've just seen on the BBC website that Bobby Charlton has died:

Burnham-On-Sea railway station.
With the lifeboat that was launched down the railway track along the pier.
That was done many years ago in 2mm finescale, by the late Denys Brownlee: Burnham on Sea and is now in new ownership: Shepton MRS

How about a Travelling Post Office, that sets down and picks up mailbags in motion???
Or a livestock wagon carrying a giraffe whose head goes down when it approaches a bridge???

HS2 cancellation. It's the biggest failure of ambition this century.
A disaster, all to save the short term prospects of a dying government.
That pretty much sums it up.
Plus of course that the money "saved" (if any) might be spent on projects in northern marginal constituencies, at some unspecified time in the future.
PS, I'm so angry I can hardly rationalise anything.

I use Stinkyink as the HP cartridges for my printer cost a fortune. Can't see any difference, but I'm not doing lots of glossy photo-prints.

I’m not sure what you mean by this but the Javelin service serves most towns in East and Mid Kent and seems to be found useful to the people that fill the trains pretty well in both peak and off peak. I personally find the service very useful indeed.
It’s somewhat surprising that on HS2 the likes of Buckinghamshire CC et al haven’t sought something similar to the additional transport network Kent achieved with HS1 - they appear to have been in full objection mode rather than seeking potential economic benefits. Kent appears to have achieved both the domestic transport links, environmental mitigation and additional environmental mitigation along existing routes where planned Channel Tunnel traffic (including freight flows) would operate.
But the whole point of HS2 is long distance high speed travel, separate from local transport. Putting stopping services on it would defeat the object. Wouldn't it?

Tried out the Halfords matt and satin lacquers, and ... they look exactly the same!
Close examination under a strong light shows a VERY slight, almost insignificant difference in the finish.
I've used Halfords matt and satin black sprays quite a lot, and expected these to match. The finish of the lacquers is somewhere between the two.
I will carry on using them as they spray very well, and the finish is actually very good.
Thanks for the advice, I will be checking others out.
Cheers, Dave.

Many thanks for the advice folks. I picked up some Halfords cans yesterday, on my way back from the Culm Valley show.
I will report back shortly.

Stunning piece of work Ian, especially as on my screen, its the size on a 7mm model!

Please can anyone recommend a decent spraycan varnish? Matt or satin?
Some time ago someone mentioned Halfords, but all I can find there is gloss lacquer.

Another poor quality film of the finished article running on the Group's Test-track (so called, because it will run on there, it will run anywhere!)
