  1. He's just the sort who would channel his self loathing through the barrel of a rifle! I used to work beside someone just like this guy. I always said he was only one temper tantrum away from a jail sentence.

I've got a mental picture of him jumping up and down in rage! Imagine being his neighbour!?

And he said he was reporting ME to Ebay! A real Mr Angry but I suspect, as you said, you could frighten him with a Paddington Hard Stare. His anger is probably frustration with his own social inadequacy. He wishes he was able to face up to real people but hasn't got the minerals for it.

  3. He also mentions my "gang of friends" although I never mentioned this forum at any point. It appears he's got a major persecution complex. Maybe his dad didn't love him. 🤪

Either this guy has some serious personal issues or not all his dogs are barking....

I strongly suspect the latter! I'm glad it's not just me. Based on his feedback, it seems criticism of any kind is met with hysteria. It's actually quite funny really. He sounds like Basil Fawlty having a really bad day!

Ah but that's a van, not a proper sausage coach.. I'm tempted to order a few, but is it prototypical to run a rake of sausage coaches together, or do did they run with a Gregg's steak bake trailer composite?

Are sausage coaches coupled together...or linked?

Looks like you've interacted with the 'Hannibal Lecter' of model railway ebay? ebay-madness, turbocharged!

I've had another one after I told him I was reporting his hysterical abuse to Ebay. (I've left in the spelling mistakes):

    Quote

Not hysterical. Clear and presise. Yuo opened with a false lie and an attack as all unintelligent sociopaths do. Stay way frommy products stop ordering them and detroying them and liying amongst your gang of friends and stop this harrasment. I will teach you nothing and you are clueless in what you say.

    😲 Oh, his poor wife!

Hah, like the "no coaches included in this sale" right at the bottom to cover himself. Quality chiseling.

I messaged this seller to point out that the description talked of the loco and not the box. He replied in three messages with a diatribe of vitriol. This punter's a nasty piece of work:

    Quote

Simple answer is....what does storage box mean to you? And for instance....if you expect this to suit a Clock work princess. It will not look like the same model and there will be visual difference and you will have bought the wrong storage box. Type storage box into wiki pedia if that helps you understand english. Also, there are other Models of the Princess locomotives and their detailed descriptions will be different.
Did you ever buy a garden gate going on the photo and expect the cottage ion the photo to come with it?

Pure and simple is your lack of basic intelligence. Unless of course you'd like to point me towards where one can buy a working 00 loco and 3 coaches for £13.50. Any more i say to you will be educating you as you are obviuosly wrong a lot in life. You wont be able to buy anything off me after your unfounded wrong mong attack.

Intelligent people buy off me. Thickos who go on the attack then expect politness cant buy my creations. It wont destroy your life but its sociopaths like you away. You know nothing about ebay. The photos show the box and what peoduct it is The boxes are not of a region or fropm an era or run on a specific voltage. Go away now. I have reported your attack and you are listed with ebay under seller protection. Simply put you were execting a loco and 3 coaches for £13.50 because you cant read properly or a shortcoming your end. Go sob to yourself im not interested. And yes...i do ripp into morons like you....what makes you think i should be nice. I am a creative, you are an attacker, a socioptah, a liar and you need bringing down sob sob.

And all that from a point made about him describing the loco and not the box. I love that bit about me being banned from buying from him. Oh the agony! The pain! How can I go on!? 🤣

Not sure this classes as madness but this guy's annoyed me on and off for years. Not so much the product (if you want to cover your train with self-adhesive labe!s that's your business), but the disingenuous description. You can get away with decals probably, but waterslide? If you put water anywhere near these you'll end up with a gummy mess.  Love to know how many people have bought off him thinking they're getting transfers

Here are some more of this guy's offerings:

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185972755422?hash=item2b4cd70bde:g:AswAAOSwjGljReVS

BR never painted that on the side of anything, ever.

And then there's this travesty...a green jinty??

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185972755399?hash=item2b4cd70bc7:g:oY8AAOSwgcBjxtIB

This bloke knows nothing of the history of British Railways.

How are you supposed to make THIS work unless it's a tinplate coach:

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185972755701?hash=item2b4cd70cf5:g:pO0AAOSw-NpkNbFO

This one made me laugh out loud:

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185972755407?hash=item2b4cd70bcf:g:I7AAAOSwB01kiPP1

And there's all the stickers he does for wagons and vans. How on earth do you get them to stick down onto all the relief detail...and why would you want to lose it all under a cr@p label anyway?

You'll notice too that the coach he's crudely Photoshopped these things onto has no wheels! As Sjcm would put it:

    Quality chiselling!

The description is misrepresentation pure and simple since it describes not a box, but the loco itself.

Want to buy a bit of 313?  You will need deep pockets and have to fight you way through the scrum:

£250 plus for some plastic labels stuck to a bit of metal that may or may not be from a Class 313? How could you be sure? It's the very definition of optimism.

    "Hornby Loft Find"

You've got to admire the gaul of someone who tries to sell something like that. Any normal human being would take one look at it and chuck it in the bin. Mind you it seems the old addage "fools and their money" still holds true since there are bidders. Amazingly.

Off topic I know, but I was reading complaints today from Chat GPT users that the makers appear to be dumbing it down, it's either to save on servers or because of possible lititgation from various copyright owners due to the copious volume of copyrighted material it has consumed whilst being trained.  Interesting they use the word 'training' a lot, it has to be 'trained', makes it sound more like a monkey than a being that learns.....

I had a colleague, an electronics engineering genius, who always adamantly stated that "Artificial Intelligence" was at best a misnomer and at worst a cynical marketing ploy. He called it merely "pattern recognition" and it appears he was right. Intelligence, true, reasoning intelligence, is a function of consciousness; a non-physical phenomenon a machine can never possess. Nor is it something that can arise spontaneously once a certain threshhold of machine complexity is reached or surpassed. I attended a Royal Society of Edinburgh lecture on AI more than twenty years ago on the possibility of the "conscious machine". I asked the speaker, a leading light in the field at the time, if consciousness was a function of immense complexity or was it something more. Without hesitation he said "something far more". He said that we have so far been unable to find the seat of our own consciousness and do not even understand what it is so the possibility of replicating it in a machine is a pipe dream. We might be able to replicate its effects in some crude way but there is no possibility at all of a machine ever exceeding the sum of its own programming and becoming sentient.

Artificial Intelligence as it is punted by the tech giants, both personal and corporate, is a myth.

Pretty certain that is Gostude in disguise. Both Gostude and AntiqueToys are away until the 5th of July, and, in Warwickshire.....

    Certainly is, Musky!

The name, address and VAT number are the same as Gostude as is the "All items are shipped in proper boxes (which cost me 2.50 to 6.50 GBP, depending on size)" story

Just another bodged cut-and-paste listing, either didn't bother to get the text right or forgot to upload the the correct picture; either way he didnt bother to proof read it properly before submitting the listing.  Unless somebody sends him a query, he'll be relisting for months because he doesn't know he's cocked up.

Interestingly, his listing mentions both the SNCF steamer and the Renfe EMU. He also mentions three different manufacturers; one of which, Arnold, is exclusively N gauge!

Title: Jouef SNCF, Nord 040D, 3-dome symetrical boiler, period III, DCC Sound Decoder
    Condition: New
    Age Level: +14 Years
    Brand: Arnold
    Gauge: HO
    MPN: HN2475
    Type: Hornby
Description: RENFE, 4-unit base set EMU class S-114, period VI.

  15. Here now is the finished coach:

    JPG02191.JPG.0e42c9024721e5ba8535735c20220571.JPG

And this is it married up to one of the matching panorama cars. I managed to get the red just right even though the colour reference Roco gave me was wrong. It turned out not to be RAL 3003, 3020 or 3028.  I had the colour spectroscopically analysed at the local paint shop and the closest match was RAL 3000. Even then it was a bit dark so I experimented with varying amounts of white until it was correct. The final mixture was 13 drops of RAL 3000 and one drop of white. The mix was them thinned with 14 drops of acrylic thinner and it was airbrushed on at 20psi. The panorama cars will get the same light weathering so they all match up.

And how are the preying on on the ignorant.  No one is forced to buy from Hattons

You know very well how. By relying on those who don't know any better accepting their price as fair because of their company's supposed reputation.

There seems to be a feeling amongst some here that attempting to screw people over is a perfectly acceptable aspect of healthy business practice. The view seems to be " if they're dumb enough to go for it, let them"... morality and ethics be damned.

I for one would like to see some decency in these matters so if I see someone trying to be a bit of a greedy $hit, I'll call them out on it and I don't much care if the laissez faire capitalists here find it "embarrassing".

I wrote to Hattons and pointed out this fact to them. Their response was classic early 21st century euphemistic focus-group generated claptrap:

"Thank you for contacting us today.

Our pre-owned items are priced by our expert pre-owned team according to a variety of factors such as current market, availability and currency demand and use this data to accurately value the items in our pre-owned range."

Annoyed by such blatantly rhetorical drivel, I responded:

"Your "team" is not very expert if they can value a second hand item that is available new from the manufacturers at more than double their retail price. Your statement is complete twaddle designed to disguise the fact that you're a bunch of utter chisellers preying on the ignorant."

    So there! 😁

I believe that the EM2 CKD was last available in 1970. I thought about buying one, but the Woodhead line, was a low interest for me. As not made of money, certainly as early teens then, I didn't buy one, even though I saw them in shops brand new, long after 1970. Not a great selling item?

I had the EM2 CKD kit. I think I got it as a Christmas present around 1968. The two OLE masts and about 15 inches of wire that were included in the box gave me my lifelong interest in electrification!

Some over-extended bu@@er is trying to sell his BMW. How do I know? Because he gave an incorrect email address to Motorway (sharks heavily advertised on radio and tv), and they keep giving him offers and pleas to sell promptly.

I'm not going to contact them to remedy their mistake, I just delete the emails!

I take it you mean he inadvertently gave them your email address?
