  1. I was always under the impression that in RAF terminology, Bingo was the point at which you needed head for home before you ran out of go-go juice.
  2. Or just put 25 April into the PB version of the Causing Chaos and Misery diary.
  3. Now I understand why the hospital was so keen for me to be in yesterday having my errant finger nail(s) removed.
  4. I tried to pick up a stray cake from PB And this happened! Fortunately it's mainly padding.
  5. Dave, was Agnes Hunt a relative of yours? If so, it would explain why you get exceptional service from the orthopods there.🤣
  6. How the French expect the buffet of a minor wayside station to treat its patrons. Could you imagine getting that at Ystrad Mynach or Radyr?
  7. Things are looking up. A cup of tea and a packet of ginger nuts (biscuits) have just arrived. The GA recipients are looking over in this direction in obvious unbridled envy. I am unmoved by their plight.
  8. Got to the hospital at 0725 for a 0730 admission. It's now coming up to 0910 and I'm still waiting. It looks as if I'm number four in a queue of four. They seen to be dealing with those who require a GA first. Hospital chairs are particularly bum numbing.
  9. After getting a summer haircut this morning, I decided to share the joy and gave the front and back lawns a trim, so they wouldn't feel left out. I now need to sort out the recycling for tomorrow's collection and then beautify myself for tomorrow morning's hospital appointment. It's a 0730 start at the PRH, so I don't want to be rushing about that early in the morning. With my start up requirements, I'll need to get up around 0600.... But I then might afford myself the luxury of bacon for breakfast. In other news, I've just been informed that the bullpup air rifle that I ordered a few weeks back, has now been built and will be delivered by the RFD on Saturday evening. That news comes hot on the heels of the email informing me that the carbine I sent back to the manufacturer for a complete overhaul, is now ready for collection. I might be going to collect it on Friday, but it all depends on how I feel after the nail bed removal. Last time, I was a bit sore and my arm was in a sling. Of course I'm going to the model show at the NEC on Sunday, so the zeroing/re zeroing of these two rifles will have to wait until next week before I can set them up.
  10. What you require is an aural auger If you put the handle into a power drill, and with the correct alignment, you can go from one ear right through to the other side without withdrawing the tool.
  11. Some kind farmer spread quite a large amount of slurry around his fields yesterday. One of the pleasures of living in the countryside are the delightful smells that occasionally waft through the atmosphere. Although my sinuses have new been well and truly cleared out, it is advisable to keep the windows and doors shut for a few days whilst the atmosphere stabilises once more. However, like road repairs, I do wish the local farmers would coordinate their efforts, because I can guarantee that life will just settle back to normal, then the chicken farm will decide to do their annual guano clearout.
  12. Bear and I could do the deviance bit with our eyes closed. Abnormal is especially reserved for the Midland Railway aficionados.
  13. I must agree. I know for a fact that I am persona non grata in Colombia
  14. I copied the track plan, and then turned it on it's head for a small 7 mm scale line. The headshunt became the main line, and the main became the access line to the colliery. The passenger hutch, which can take a single car DMU, can be removed for pure terminal operations, or extended to another full cassette table should I have the space.
  15. No 44 tonners from Mr Kipling have been seen, so I am doing it out of the goodness of my heart.
  16. After much deliberation (about 10 seconds) I have decided to forgo the Borders MRC workshop day in favour of working in the garage this morning, followed by some workshop time this afternoon whilst Nyda is attending her craft club. Some of the garage time will involve sorting out the car stuff mentioned earlier in the thread.
  17. 'What is all this stuff on the floor of the garage?' Asked Nyda when she went in there, earlier this afternoon. 'It's the stuff you asked me to take out of the boot of your car, dearest one'. I replied. It has been quite quiet for the rest of the afternoon. I'm now awaiting my next tasking order which will no doubt get me to sort the 'stuff' out, and get some boxes into the car to make the boot space tidier.
  18. We just set them up, which lets you score the winning shot.
  19. Or Broseley: Those folk south of the River are something else🤣.
  20. I am currently sitting in rhe courtyard of Chirk Castle waiting for Nyda and her friends to finish their tour of the castle. They are sucking up the culture, whilst I an enjoying the sunshine. Lunch follows.
  21. I only picked the picture because it had Sebastian Bach written on the cover. It would have been better as Dau Twmp
  22. Hustler and Raptor: We know what you are really thinking when you are flying driving the thing.
  23. I went to the cinema to see the film 'Battle of Britain', and my enjoyment of this film was completely ruined by the front three rows continually standing up and saluting every time a senior RAF officer appeared on film. The air combat scenes in the film, with the exception of some obvious models, still are incredible, as they were filmed with real aircraft mixing it together without the benefit of CGI Apart from the various liberties taken from necessity due to the shortage of suitable airframes, I was rather amused that the end captions credit one Israeli pilot flying during the period which would have been anachronistic.
