  1. Great to see Feltham in the flesh yesterday Ray looking forward to seeing the buildings progress. E
  2. Enjoyed this at Minehead today, great concept.
  3. Another shot of Tipham by Phil. E
  4. Tipham at Derby Roundhouse last year. E
  5. Great little layout this, fun to operate to. It is surprising the variety of shunts and moves that can be done on such a simple layout. E
  6. Just read the review in the latest Horby magazine, they love it so the people on this forum must be the"ill-informed quibblers, who contradict each other" that they refer to. At least the review in RM recognized some of the issues with the buffer beam and the livery. E
  7. Must admit watched a programme on C4 yesterday about the Orient Express and the Pullman colour looked closer to the Dapol 73 rather than the Hornby coaches. E
  8. Judging by the quality of the 73 it's a good job Bachmann have taken this on. E
  9. Good to see a family working together on a project, it may sow the seed for the future. E
  10. I think there is a certain amount of take it or leave it arrogance from some manufacturers which is why you get no response, so really it is up to us as the consumer to vote with our feet. If we are really not happy about the quality of a product and lack of response or a solution from the manufacturer then we should think twice about ordering and purchasing items from the same manufacturer in the future. It would also be good if the suppliers of the Limited Edition models sent them back to Dapol if there are errors in the livery rather than just passing them on to the consumer, this may help focus Dapol's mind, although they probably already have the money in the bank so won't care anyway. Nobody likes criticism but as you say recognition of an issue at least would be appreciated, we can complain as much as we like here but whether anyone from Dapol reads these pages I don't know so maybe it would be better to send all the complaints to them via e-mail or their Facebook page to make sure they get them. E
  11. I think I must have been relatively lucky with my BR Blue 73 124, whilst the compressor was detached from the underframe upon receipt the rest of it was intact and the buffers appear to be pointing in the right direction. The most annoying thing are the sand pipes on the bogies as these drag on the sleepers causing a clicking noise in both directions, these are either to long or have become unclipped from the bogie frame. The BR blue will always be subjective but there were many variants depending on when they were painted and who painted them so it is difficult to say, have seen worse though. It will look better once weathered. Seems to run ok over points etc on DC, haven't tried it on DCC yet though. E
  12. Hi Ray It was a great weekend and thank you for letting me loose on Hounslow Sidings. We all enjoyed the Saturday evening to as it was very sociable, just as these things should be. E
  13. There will be 3 of us there with Ruan mate so if your stuck and need a break give us a shout. E
  14. It arrived by lorry as it is the quickest way to move it even if it does have to come via Exeter. E
  15. Hi Jo A couple of pictures you may be interested in. Firstly 57605 in the new GWR livery popped in after dragging a HST from Penzance. And also 08410 has come up to Laira from Penzance for some attention to the engine seen here also in it's new green livery. The VDA vans used for storage are gradually being replaced by garages and I will get some pictures of these if it ever stops raining. E
  16. Looking forward to seeing Peafore Yard on Saturday. E
  17. Glad you had a good day Ray despite your initial panics. E

  21. Ray it was great to catch up with you and Darren at Exeter today. Hounslow looked great in the flesh, the pictures are good don't really do it justice. E
  22. Jo Will take some pictures of the delivery lorries for you and post latter, out of interest the fuel is also delivered by road now. E
  23. Jo Couple more reference pictures for you. Firstly a recent visitor has been DRS 57310 which was being used on the Night Sleeper, nice looking loco but was very un reliable as you can tell as it is at Laira during the day and not at Penzance. I like the picture of the Lorry with the bogies on, a common sight at Laira. Here is a picture of a power unit lorry under the hoist with 08641 shunting the wagon. E
