Watching the Red Bull Soapbox Race on Dave. Love that someones don Stephenson's Rocket as a soapbox racer.

Well wasn't expecting Tornado to spend nearly an hour at Haywards Heath on the way back to Lewes. Tornado Effect still in full swing as the car park has never been that full of people before when I've been down there.
-
Finally had Tornado through my hometown. Mind you I also saw her two days ago as well.

Sat at home and watching F1 but strangely I hear train whistles and Tangmere has been through and not returned yet and I don't normally hear the Bluebell locos.

Was surprised to see in my Arsenal programme yesterday to see an article looking back to a previous programme from 1936 covering the news of the LNER naming the B17 2848 after the club.

Having an afternoon of watching Railway DVD's that arrived yesterday. Starting with Britain's Railways The Golden Age of the Big Four then I have the boxset of Central Steam. Just waiting for my Kingfisher Bulleid Pacific DVD as well as my Series 1 and 2 of Chris Barries Britains Greatest Machines and Mark Williams On The Rails.

My Mum bought me a Flying Scotsman 4 DVD set with Flying Scotsman (1929 Film), Tender Memories (1966), Australia (1988 and sadly already have) and A Year in the Life (2000). I just watched Tender Memories and was delighted to see 4472 steaming near Haywards Heath and a few shots of her at Brighton. A shame it was 25 years before I was born. Hopefully one day it can happen again.

So now I just need to see 4489 Dominion of Canada and I've seen all 6 Preserved A4's. 2 of which I saw for the first time today as well as Mallard again. To celkebrate I bought The Book of the A4 Pacifics. Roll on next year to see all 6 together.

After seeing some great Hornby announcements, Santi (Cazorla) Claus gave me extra reasons to be happy

To many locos I want from Hornby. Trouble is a lack of a space for a decent sized layout to run them on (at the moment its just a small circle of track with nothing else on it)

Looking forward to Saturday. Planning a visit to the NRM and just looked to see any railtours in York and without knowing found out that both 5043 (which funnily enough went to York last time I went there in June) and 60009 will be coming in on tours. That means I can finally see 60009 as well as 60008.

Thinking of doing the Cathedrals Express with 6201 from Euston to Kidderminster for the SVR Gala on 22nd September (2 days after my birthday)as a birthday treat for myself. Haven't been on the SVR since 1999, a railtour since 2010 and a tour with Lizzie since 2002.
