  7. Welcome to the 2023 season of RHTT workings. GBRF* have taken over my local RHTT (Stowmarket based) services for 2023 - to this end they have been using their ex DRS 57 for driver training for a few days this past week * which sadly brings an end to the DRS guys and the 37s. 8. I have heard an unconfirmed report of a Hymek on a Cowley car train at Winsford on the down, presumably heading for Speke - the teller was a respected source (a driver) so take that as you will.
  9. Day 3 Eccles Road 04/08/2023 (Friday) 66753, EMD Roberts Road, on 6P52, 12:13, Whitemoor Yard L.D.C GBRF - Lowestoft RECP. (14:35) - empty stone (20 IOA) The loaded working got an early run out of Norwich (not sure why it's booked to sit at Norwich for 34 minutes, it could easily leave early, even if it then waits at Ely) 66753, EMD Roberts Road, on 6H52, 19:30, Lowestoft RECP. - Whitemoor Yard L.D.C GBRF (22:45) - loaded stone (20 IOA)
  10. Plenty of (G)WR locos got to Birkenhead, indeed they had a depot at Mollington Street
  11. I spoke to several of the old signalmen and none could recall a Whizzo or a Warship beyond Chester (on the Birkenhead line)
  12. The location was Kirtlebridge. Signal GMC847 had the aspect removed / smashed, the signals preceeding it showed the correct aspects (presumably G/YY/Y -> red which became blank), the driver of the mail, 1S55, stopped to report the blank aspect and noticed 2 males on the signal, as he reported it they then tried to rob the train. Police attended and 2 were arrested. Later it was noticed that the aspect had also been removed / smashed from GMC848 signal. This has been widely discussed on various forums, I've redacted some details for brevity but it's no secret.

As per the title, a new flow commenced through Eccles Road on Thursday 27/07/2023 - the commodity is imported ballast from Norway and looks to be a substantial traffic, up to 4 trains per week and boats arriving regularly at Lowestoft.
