  1. Hi, the 914 is the standard length of rail Peco use to sell their flexi track in yards lengths and this is what the machines are set to produce. Lots of modellers who looked at the track at Warley and asked questions, liked the idea of 60ft panels as its not been done before in an off the shelf form. I can't remember anybody doing it. The lengths come with 3 and a half panels so there is a bit of rail left over at the ends. Yes not idela but we are currently discussing it and may have a plan but you will have to wait on that one. To have the track in shorter lengths would mean one of two things, the price goes up as you need to pay someone to cut the rail in to shorter lengths before the panels are added or some poor mug, ie me, will have to sit there cutting them before posting them out to customers.
  2. Hi, 1) The tubes may cost more than a straight as they are classed as a funny shape, plus as you say there would be a small extra bit of rail with every order. 2) Yes I think it will remove the self latching, its was discussed and as the frog will need the polarity changing we suspect that most will be either point motor or wire in tube with a switch.
  3. I will pass your comments on to the designers but I think it may be down to the production process and there has to be a line drawn somewhere or we may as well just stop the project and go back to building points.
  4. Yes that would be ideal but for those members who are building a small shunting type layout, they may only need 3 pieces so it would be unfair to say they have to have a certain number. I know my idea for a quick layout is only using 2 and 1/2 bits and a couple of points. It is being looked at and im sure we will sort something out.
  5. Hi, It is hoped to have the fexi track for sale at the AGM/modellers day on the 8th with the tracking being in the trade stores very soon after once ive worked out how to post it with out members having to pay an arm or a leg on postage and to make it bomb proof to stop the post person damaging it. It has been known for them to fold the boxes in two to get them through a letter box. The points are due spring 2019 as we asked Peco desgin guy very politly to change a couple of bits like removing the spring thus being able to make the tie bar thinner and something else which I have forgotten. Hope this helps. Thanks
  6. HI Keith, If you would like to cover the following costs: 528 mile worth of fuel Hotel accomadation for 3 nights Stand rent, There are another couple of costs to be factored in but I can't remember off the top of my head what they are at the moment. You would also need to leaise with the show organiser to turn it in to an EMGS event. Oh and persuade my very tollernat other half that being away for home for 4 weekends in May is a good idea........ Then I would quite happly bring the trade stand down to the event. The problem is logistices, the stores is based in Darlington and going to more events than the 4 that the stand visits, can be a problem with my own exhibiton diary. At the moment I'm exhibiting/demoing/EMGSing at an average of 2 shows per month with October and May being almost every weekend. We, as has been mentioned a few times limited by the sales rules that we have to abide by other wise we have 4 times the amount of paper work and the cost of everytthing will also have to go up to cover costs. If we could also change the record about selling else where, the track is an EMGS product and won't be in shops or other retail outlets unless they buy it from us and resell it. It wont be made avaible by Peco to any of thier retailers and if they did enquire about it I would suspect they would be told to contact the society. Thanks
  7. Hi, Yes those prices are correct and you have saved me having to type it all out again. We are very happy with the track and as you can see the points are quite nice too. There are a few tweaks to be made to various bits, two of which are removing the spring from the point which in turn means the tie bar can be made thinner. Thank you for all the interest that people have shown both on here and at the show today. Sorry for the brief and possibly uncohiernt message but it’s been a long day at the show and it’s time to hit the pub/restaurant. Thanks Simon EMGs Trade officer.
  8. Plus you have to have a name to it, so if we had a consumer account and I know from experience trying to change that name is practically impossible so it will always be in the name of the person who set it up. Bit of a problem if that person stands down from the position.
  9. Hi, It might be because I have admin rights for the site so its showing me everything. Again something to look at. Thanks Simon
  10. Hi, If you click on the product it will say who the suppiler is for that item. I will have to look into it see if there is away, possibly altering all the product titles but that will take a while to do. Thanks Simon
  11. Hi, I think the problem is as a business your only meant to have one PayPal account and for the EMGS that accounts is on the trade side of the things and it would cause no end of confusion with the banking and accounts if the membership side of things started using the same PayPal account. I may be totally wrong with the above but that’s how I read it.
  12. Your guess is as good as mine. I know there was mention about it a while ago. I will approach Mr York and will see what can be done. Thanks Simon
  13. Hi Jol, Just to correct you on a few bits of information you have stated. The chairs you have quoted the price for are C&L chairs not exactoscale ones. The exactoscale prices are as the exactoscale list. There is a product referance number for all the Track fixing parts and the Exactoscale ones start E4 So for example 3 BOLT FIXING CHAIRS - PACKET OF 250 R/H AND L/H SKU: 4CH101B - theses are C&L product. S 1 3 HOLE CHAIR - 4MM (500) SKU: E4CH101A - these are exactoscale ones If you have downloaded the members price list it will show all product codes (if the product has one), but make sure you don't have a previous copy of the list on you pc/laptop/tablet etc etc as al that will happen is the old version of the price list will be opened. Thanks Simon EMGS Trade
  14. Morning, The problem was/is the reason why was given by a member of the Board, me as the Trade officer at quite an early point in this thread but people still kept asking despite being given the answer and it was explained by not only me several times but other members of the society and even non members of the society that’s why people got arsey with it. As an FYI, The last time it was asked was about 20 odd posts ago which isn’t that long ago. People have developed a habit of not even reading the whole thread to get all the facts before commenting on things. It’s not difficult just bookmark the page you are reading and then you can go back later on and keep reading. Why you think that the societiy would make something like this up is beyond me.
  15. ThaneofFife, You know what I'm getting sick of explaining the same thing over and over and over and over!!!! If this gets me a warning then im quite happy as people fail to read what has been put before, its not a difficult task!!!! Pecos involvment in this process has been to do the drawings, the CAD work and then manufactoring the track and points. Thats it, nothing more. The society went to them and asked would they be prepered to make us some track. They thought about it, asked for some drawings/track templates to see what we wanted, Thought about it some more and then came back to us and said yes they would be able to make it for us, contract signed and the process of having CAD work started and hopefully at the EMGS stand at Warley there will be some 3D printed samples to look at. Yes thats a simplifed version of what happened but I don't want to pitch it too high as some people are struggling with what has been posted before. Peco don't have anything to do with the sales side of the project THATS THE EMGS!!!!!!!!!! The only people that have a say in how the product is sold is HMRC!!!! There are rules in place that we have to obey in the selling and this is why it is members/day members only. If you want to change it then please join the society, become a member of the board and then spend lots of time rewrting the articles of adminastration, submitting them to Compaies house. Then you can also deal with the HMRC paperwork whch will need to be completed to enable us to sell to everyone. Also just for the record lots of members who already have a layout havecontacted me and wanted to order track there and then. They all said that they will buying track and couple of points to make a small shunting puzzle, myself included.
  16. As has been explained, due to the way the EMGS is set up we are only allowed to sell to members/day members and this won't be changing.
  17. Hi Nick, The rail will be the same rail that Peco use in their bullhead track, which i belive to be Nickle Silver. There are already 4mm scale chairs avaible from Exactoscale and C&L so I doubt that the society would look at producing thier own chairs as we stock both makes in the EMGS stores. I would also suspect that it maybe the same case for the sleeper timber. I will of course mention your questions at the next board meeting. Thanks Simon
  18. Hi,As was explained in another post we are restricted in the way the society is set up for selling by the relevant authorities and can only sell the product in certain ways. Supplying model railway shops is outside of those and the EMGS would still need to pay to have the product made by Peco and then for Peco to have to buy it back so to speak for them to distribute to the shops. I know someone may correct me on that but that’s the way I see it.
  19. Hi, Unfortunately as it’s an EMGS exclusive product he won’t be able to obtain any of it for them. They will have to approach the EMGS. Thanks Simon
  20. Hi Frank, Many thanks for the question and I can now explain that the non standard sleeper height is down to having the frog prewired up so you just need to drill a hole and pop the frog wire through the board. A bit like Peco electrofrog points are. Hope this answers the question Thanks Simon
  21. Good afternoon all, So again with my EMGS Trade officers hat on I will to answer some of the questions that have been rasied. First up to clear any misconceptions, The EM Track work is an EMGS exclusive product to the Society. Its not a general Peco product. Yes Peco have designed it to our specifications and will manufacture if for the Society but that is their involvment stops. At this point I would like to take this oppertunity to publically thank Peco for all their help on this project. As for where you can by the track and why not in a shop to borden the appeal, Yes that would be great BUT for various reasons which arn't for posting up on a public forum, we are only allowed to sell to Members or Day members or it opens a massive can of worms. We will keep you all updated as and when we have more information to share and don't forget to pop by the EMGS stand at Warley. Thanks Simon
  22. We don't just throw these things together you know honest
  23. Morning all, So as some of you may be aware or not as the case may be I'm the EMGS Trade officer and a EMGS Board member and being the youngest member on the Board by a good few years and a member of the forum, I will try and asnwer any questions or comments that you post up. The reason for the B6 was one of space. I'm sure you would agree that for someone starting out/trying EM, they wouldn't want to build a big layout or need lots of space for the track plan so the B6 seamed to be the best compromise. The long term plan is to add to the range with other points etc as and when we are able too as each point isn't small pocket change to produce. The EM track is exclusive to the EMGS and Peco won't be retailing it through thier normal stockists. Thanks Simon
  24. HI David, As part of the Charwelton into the 80s team, Thank you for the kind comments and we will be posting up more photos as we work on the project but it will be of the rolling stock side of things than layout based as the majority of the work on the layout has been completed wust point motors to install, the yard to wire up, signals and panels to do before Doncaster next year. Also as a bit of a tease we are keeping a few things under wraps till then
  25. If you do the tap you will have to do the crisps as well Hope you had a good trip home after the weekend
