He normally gets very excited by his evening meal as its tinned food but he just wasn't interested.

We have a dog who's holding out for something better. I agree with the try with a treat approach.

Thanks guys. Gave him a treat - which he half-heartedly ate - then he ate half of his evening meal (the other dog polished off the rest). I reckon he's got the hump 'cos my wife's not home. She's not back 'till saturday so he'll have to get used to it!
