  1. Are they something to do with the brake rigging on the bogies? Keith
  2. Had the same thought myself! ''Outstanding'' does not do the modelling justice.... Carl, do you do a delivery service as well!!! cheers Keith PS, I may have missed it but what's the smaller ship in the background in a couple of photo's above?
  3. I was just wondering (evenmore so after seeing Clagmeisters comment) what, if anything is left at Millerhill now? keith
  4. this is really coming along, no idea how you could really fit them but the bridge would look great with check rails fitted.... Any chance of a large logo 37 or are they too dated for you? watching with interest.... cheers Keith
  5. You may end up in the staff mag, I presume they have some sort of monthly staff newsletter etc!!!! or even a passinger mag...who knows..... Keith
  6. Carl Perhaps you should look for a job as model maker on a film set etc, your skills are excellent. When finished this boat is going to be a stunner... Maybe you should also send a photo of it to CalMac! cheers Keith
  7. Thanks very much, long way from its old stamping ground then! cheers Keith
  8. Thanks Peter, It looks great. Could almost wish I had not got rid of all mine 10 years ago...The cl33 also is very good... cheers Keith
  9. Looks great, really impressed. Out of interest what's the number of the Scottish cl47 on the fueling point? watching with interest Keith
  10. I did not even know the cab came apart until I was reading an article in the latest Hornby mag about fitting DCC to the Bachmann cl08 and they had the cab off to fit a chip inside it! There are two small lugs at the front (under the small front facing cab windows) and these need to be prised out first. Its a slow job that requires a lot of force to get the cab section to seperate, putting it back on is no easier. I have just put mine back on and it took a lot of force to get the cab fully home! Now awaiting the old forum to appear so I can get access to some of the threads I started asking for Scottish based cl08 numbers! Still not sure about the blog, not finding it easy to follow so far! cheers Keith
  11. Finished the blue, made one of the cab windows open as well plus painted the cab inside a bit. now to work out what number to make it! Then to start putting back together and weathering it.
  12. What a talking point these boats will be! Having seen how much trouble is going into getting the ferry right just wish I had room for one, although it would have to sail here first! Would love one on the shop counter just to see what comments I got!!! cheers Keith
  13. Just found one more! Noted at Ayr April 1995, after a ride past the deport to spot the last active Cl08 I needed at the time! Also remember a nice cake shop outside the station! cheers Keith
  14. Try and do the rest in one go... I know 47597 is at Carlisle, but is a ED loco and its Border country! Not sure 47704 is in Scotland, perhaps someone can advise the location as I have no details! Where are all the real trains! Thats it from me for Scottish photo's for a while at least. Its certainly easy uploading photo's onto this new forum! cheers Keith
  15. Brought a load of photo's back from the UK last week to scan and had these sorted Sat, but then thought no point uploading onto the old site! Not sorted dates out for most yet, and the Cl26 is a bit poor but better than nothing I guess... sort some more in a while, better do some work i think! cheers Keith
  16. Very impressive, Carl perhaps you should consider becoming a full time model maker! This ship is certainly going to be the talking place once berthed on the layout... Cannot wait to see it fully painted and lettered:icon_clap: well done keith
  17. Nice looking layout, hopefully you can soon sort the OHLE once time permits etc. Will watch with interest for future updates.. cheers Keith
  18. Continuing with work on the class 08's, first 08623 in for a re-numbering and further weathering. secondly 08648 which I picked up in departmental grey but slowly being re-painted BR blue. Have fitted the air pipes. Two coats so far today, but will leave now until tomorrow since the paint is drying too quick! This one should keep me quiet for a while I think! cheers Keith
