  1. Is Platform 4 at Snow hill going to be returned to heavy rail use? Worst thing they ever did taking that out when the Metro first opened. cheers Keith
  2. and not a single TD screen anywhere! Who controls that section now? Even though my sister lives nearby, sometime since I was last at the station. cheers Keith
  3. I must be out of touch since escaping Network Rail and the UK! What happened to the Cardiff-Nottingham trains that ran via Worcester SH Can remember them starting with Cl156's every two hours in the beginning... Keith
  4. Can remember back in the 1980´s when we used to visit family near Portsmouth my Uncle taking me to Fratton station to stand on the footbridge for a few hours, there was a cafe at the end he used to get two teas from as well. Anyway there was normally a cl33 parked up which used to follow the Bristol train in and the inward loco would then appear latter to park up until the next Bristol train appeared. Fridays sometimes brought a Cl47 in from Manchester via Birmingham and the Fratton 09 seemed to go and shut release it. Sundays can remember a Cl33-1 with 4TC on a two hourly Reading service. Used to love it as always something happening, Even a cl73 in the Goods yard once. Keith
  5. Looking for help fitting DCC and sound to a Mechant Navy 2003 model, so would need to be hard wired in as no DCC sockets? is this possible? Loco is 35012 that came with the Hornby Orient Express set. thanks Keith
  6. What if, anything is happening with the houses where the ground dropped infront of them? Will they be saved or have to come down some stage? At least the railway foundation work is looking good. Keith
  7. Where it not for the wall of containers, i suspect a few houses would have disappeared into the sea now, along with even more trackbed. So a very well thought out idea Keith
  8. I could draw it for you, and send on a email if that helped? I used to work in the PSB opposite it! cheers Keith
  9. Anyone ever visited Ready to Roll in Miami near Opa Locka airport? Hope to call in there next month...
  10. Stunning, and what its all about, watching the trains go by. Any plans to add some signals at some stage? keep the photo's coming please. well done Keith
  11. big T, on 05 September 2010 - 13:34 , said: The last couple of years have been a complete sham with the run down of 56's, 58's and 60's. ... This is what happens when accountants run businesses. FARCICAL. EWS weren't / DBS aren't running a spotter's benefit. Is there any evidence that not having the 56s or 58s in their fleet has interfered with their ability to run the trains that they wanted to run? Have you done the costings that demonstrate that retaining and maintaining a fleet of 60s would be cheaper, overall, than using a fleet of 66s (and some 59s, I suppose)? I like the 60s as much as the next person; I'm sorry to see their gradual demise; but that demise is neither farcical nor a sham. It's the way of things, just like the demise of the Deltics, the Westerns, the 9Fs and pre-grouping steam was. And I'm sorry to say it - and I know that it's hopelessly unsexy to say this - but what happens when accountants don't run businesses is that they go bust, usually in pretty short order. Jim Rubbish, if BR still existed I suspect these loco's would still be working and better looked after. Keith
  12. Shame to see 20 being disposed as I guess it rules out a fleet return. Would be nice if someone brought the lot and sent them back to Brush for a overhaul etc, but apart from money for this, just what work is there for them with a different company? here's hoping but I doubt it Keith
  13. Fab Carl, going to miss checking out this thread to see the latest with the boat, so hope in way you are building again soon! Did you ever hear anything from CalMac? Such a shame if not. cheers Keith
  14. What's the next project Carl, now this one is almost ready for launching! Looks fab cheers keith
  15. and £15.00 postage......! Keith
  16. Is there going to be a National shortage of Peco inspection kits soon, looking at how many you may need!!! Great model and I think the track looks good, just wish I had considered using something other than Peco on my layout....It's worth the effect! cheers Keith
  17. Carl Perhaps they are arranging a board meeting to offer you a job making model's of the entire fleet Anyway if you ever do hear anything please post it! cheers Keith
  18. Looks great Carl, are you still planning to send a photo to Calmac? It would look great on display! cheers Keith
  19. Not something that seems to be photographed much, perhaps access/views make it hard, anyway back in 1998 I got a night shot of lawley Street, Birmingham... Always thought the terminals would make an interesting model but space is a issuie! cheers Keith
  20. Have been here in the past when modelling N gauge and after some DB stock, interesting shop with plenty of gems hiddern. Staff helpful so would recommend. cheers Keith
  21. I guess you may have gotten bored with the layout, certainly something I have done in the past. Anyway I hope you 'don't change the layout but understand why if you do! The other option is sell it and start with a clean slate again..... cheers Keith
  22. Yes had an email from Rails yesterday, but at ??89.00 I think I will give it a miss. Should they ever come down then maybe but no way can I afford that at the minute... oh well
