  1. Thank you for your kind comment, however, I cannot take credit for most of the fleet as I get them professionally resprayed by a good friend. I will pass the comments on though. Cheers, George.
  2. Hi Vecchio, Thank you very much for the kind comment. I still have a few more class 66s to get sorted yet, the fleet will grow more. I'm afraid I'm not a member with a club, but I would love to take my layout to a show just not really got any clue as to how to do so. Kind regards, George.
  3. Another couple of locos have joined the fleet this week. Once again though, they are class 66s. There will be other traction one day, honestly. The first loco to arrive is 66709 'Sorrento' I do already have 709, but this is the updated livery and also has sound fitted and sounds fantastic. the second loco to arrive is celebrity loco 66721 'Harry Beck' this another great looking loco from Bachmann. In other news, the layout has now had its rail sides painted. Thank you to Mike for helping me with the paints. Also, I decided to completely rewire the tracks as before it was very dodgy and very bodged, but with some guidance from the electricians from my work I now have a properly wired layout and trains are finally running ten times smoother. I still have a fair amount of work to do to the layout, but now added to the to do list is to completely strip the area where the fuelling point will be and completely re-model it and make it more realistic as it is the main feature of the layout (well, will be). Below is a photo of the now painted track: All the best, George.
  4. Hi Mike, thanks for the reply. Yes, there is a Range nearby, to be honest I have never thought about there to get paints and things from, as it does have a large crafts selection. Thanks for the how to and mix combo, I really appreciate it. I will give it a go and try various shades I'm also going to use some photos to help me as a reference. I certainly will be in touch if I get stuck, thanks again Mick. Kind regards, George
  5. Another big stock update, I'm afraid that they are all class 66s too. Yesterday, one of the celebrity London Transport Museum locos came through the post. It is GBRF 66718 'Sir Peter Hendy CBE'. Today two more locos joined the fleet. The first loco is another famous loco and one I have been dying to have since seeing it is 66779 'Evening Star' And the last loco for today is GBRF 66738 'Huddersfield Town'. In other news the final backscene has been fitted, I just now need to reattach what will be the name board for the layout that runs across the top front of the layout, then the whole outside of the baseboards and backscenes need painting. It will be painted something similar to GBRF blue. All the best, George.
  6. It does look like loadhaul livery with the shadows. I apologise for the shadows I would normally go further up the platform, but there was people there and would have got them in the photo. Regards, George.
  7. Thank you very much for the photos they will come in handy as I'm still scratching my head as to what to do regarding the fuelling point area. I have searched and searched search engine sites for GBRF fuelling points, but have only found the one at Peterborough. I will now try Plumstead. Thanks again for sharing. Kind regards, George.
  8. Thank you for the comment, I appreciate it. Painting the rails is something I need to do, but getting a realistic colour is something I have struggled with in the past. I will certainly try your paint mix as your track work looks very realistic. May I ask what paint manufacturer you use? Kind regards, George.
  9. Another new arrival to the fuelling point, I'm afraid it is another class 66. GBRF 66745 'Modern Railways' is seen stabled alongside 66720 and 66719. Thanks to Richard for getting in touch with me about the loco, just needs a little weathering now. Whilst I had the glue I also decided to attach the nameplates to 66731 and is now 'InterhubGB' All the best, George.
  10. Ah I see, thanks for letting me know, Russ, I never knew that. To be honest it also caught me out by surprise with it setting off rather late, but I was glad to catch it as I haven't seen the working before, usually miss it because of work. I need to go try the bridge out at some point, I always forget about it.
  11. 9th September Network Rails DR98956 running from York Thrall Europa to Wigan L.I.P 664J, passed through Brighouse station at 13:19.
  12. Thursday 8th September Colas 60047 came through Brighouse station working from Colas Ribble rail to Lindsey oil refinery 663A, at 12:41
  13. A couple of workings that I have photographed these past couple of days. First, Thursday 8th September: GBRF 66703 running from Drax Aes to Liverpool biomass terminal 4M37, at 11:16 through Brighouse station. Then, EWS 66016 running Tees N.Y to Knowsley freight terminal 667B, at 12:33 through Brighouse station. I apologise about the photo of the train as a local service was just departing as 66016 came charging through. Today, 9th September, GBRF 66708 running Drax Aes to Liverpool biomass terminal 4M37, at 11:16 through Brighouse station.
  14. Just a quick photo now that the boards have been turned around. Network rail were on site earlier checking the control box: Cheers, George.
  15. I see I did wonder if they got a wash, I have seen 720 on Flickr on RHTT duties in a very dirty state, more food for thought. Thanks for the reply though, Marcus. Much appreciated. Kind regards, George.
  16. Looking really good, Marcus. You have a great selection of stock. I really like the backscene it looks awesome. Cheers, George
  17. Thanks Marcus, I had been wondering a while as to why I didn't just try the backscene on the other side, I'm glad I have now. Oh dear that's not good, haha. Did 720 get a wash afterwards or is it still mega weathered? The reason for the question is because I'm wanting to weather my 720 but undecided as to what state to do it in. Kind regards, George
  18. All change to the layout today. I have been looking at the layout and sort of wondering as to why I have all the main scenic details hidden out of view where only the operator can see them. So, I have decided to change the backscene to the other side of the layout, in affect turning the layout around. This also means that the fuelling point is now more on view and any details are all on show and easier to photograph. Hopefully this photo will show what I'm talking about: The only thing now is that I have a fair amount of bare baseboard from some of the changes, but that's all good as I can get the bits box out and add more little scenes. Cheers, George.
  19. Thanks for sharing the image, Russ. Wow! 66720 looks mega weathered. Not sure I would dare weather it like that, although it would be true and up to date. I may have to contact someone who would do the job. I will drop you a pm though when the photo is needed, thanks again.
  20. Really nice weathering on the class 66, really looks great! Will you be adding sound to the loco? Cheers, George
  21. It really is, I'm very impressed with it. I need to get mine weathered.
  22. Another new arrival on the fuelling point today. Its been a long wait but certainly worth it as the paint finish is very impressive from Bachmann. I'm afraid it is another class 66. It just needs detailing and weathering now. 66720 arrives into the siding awaiting its turn onto the fuelling point: There will be some other traction soon other than class 66s. Cheers, George
  23. I built it so it was portable so I can move it about the house and garden for photos and things. I would like to exhibit the layout, but I have never taken a layout before.
  24. Thank you Nick, most appreciated.
  25. Earlier this week my new backscene arrived, and this afternoon I decided to get it stuck in place. I do have some ideas to add to the backscene as at the moment its a little bare, mainly low relief type factories/warehouses. The road bridge is still slowly coming along. The main structure has now been painted, just need to get some street furniture and the bridge will be finished. Cheers, George.
