  1. All the wheels sit down squarely on the track on my example. It also run fine over 2R points.
  2. B2 would be close enough for me. After all, Hornby are more than happy to paint locos with a Beatles livery?
  3. Nothing for me unfortunately. When I got back into the hobby I decided to limit myself to SR and Met only. I was hoping for an upgraded unrebuilt West Country but no joy. Still, there's some to look forward to from other manufacturers. EDIT I can't understand why they haven't released a Peckett in Met livery?
  4. Well I have to say that this is by far the best rtr loco I have bought for years in terms of interest alone. In addition the quality is excellent, it runs superbly and it is very good value for money. More of the oddities please!
  5. Thanks for the info. I presume from the panto, which was used in yards, that there must have been other SR (shunting?) locos with pantographs? I've never heard of such a thing?
  6. Were these locos used for passengers or freight? It's a job to find out much about them? I can't seem to find any film of them on YouTube although I may be using the wrong search criteria. Could some one point me to some film of these locos in action? What did they actually sound like?
  7. Of course they have! Or are about to. Do you think all was well? It happens. They are done and decided to pull the plug. I wonder what state the other main online retailers are in?
  8. Yeah and I ordered one from them at around 3pm at the full price! Don't get me wrong. Its sad. But things are changing for the worse. Amazon is king.
  9. Hmmm. They took an order from me at about 3pm today. I wonder if it will be honoured? Doubt it. They've gone bust which is a pity.
  10. No idea yet. Doubt it will though with the 73 function map. And the sound won't be right. But..... A man goes to the Doctor and says "Every time I blow the whistle on my class 70 it sounds like a horn and it's driving me insane". And the Doctor says "Well don't do it then!".😀
  11. Thanks Graham, I've got one on order. There's an HM7000 Class 73 sound profile which will do me just fine. Well, the electric bit. Yes, I very much do like it. It's very good value. Though I'm surprised it didn't come with an OB OO gauge statue.😀
  12. Mines arrived and it's very good for the money. Nice and heavy, a good finish without any flaws. Has any one tried to fit an HM7000 or could take a guess at whether one will fit? The one thing I don't like is the wrench-the-buffers-off design to get the body off so I'd like to avoid it if it's futile. With all wheel pickups it should be OK without the power bank cross fingers.
  13. Very sadly the is no LT livery in the range as far as I can see? Even though it was mentioned in their announcement video.
  14. Really? Looks like three cheap shrink wrapped caps in parallel to me with no additional components. May disembowel one and have a look. I suspect that there are no additional components other than the wee electrolytic caps despite what Hornby might say to justify the price. I could be wrong. Anyway, Hornby are out of stock at the moment so they must be selling like hot cakes!
  15. Ah! Well, two would be more than enough.😀 I'm surprised that no one's making a cheap clone.
  16. That's interesting. Thanks for the information. Edit: Kirk is butchering to get it into the Dapol so that's no good for me. And I find that the power bank is essential really to guarantee flawless performance. (£15 for two shrink wrapped 2p caps!! 😀)
  17. Re size. The problem seems to be the antenna. I'm wondering if the solution would be to put it on a separate board with a wired connection? It would reduce the size of the boards by 25% with a bit of further rearrangement. Or place it on top of the main board? Either way, they do need to find a way to reduce the size if it's going to be a total solution. I find them to be excellent. The problem being that they will only fit into a small percentage of my fleet. You can set them to run with an analogue DC controller but for some reason it's not recommended.
  18. I do miss it. Best time ever was when you got us into the Signal Box at Bishops Lydeard!! I'll never forget it. I'm just so busy with work at the mo. Retirement is imminent.
  19. Haha! So good to hear from you Tim. I should make the effort but am so tired after work in my old age!😀 But wouldn't you rather have my Met Class F with Chesham set coaches?😂 I saw a YouTube vid recently with you in it!
  20. Calm down. I've got one on order. EDIT And I've just had an email to say that it's been posted. When I get it I'll be sure to post my review here.😂 Also ordered a 21 pin HM7000 and power bank for it. If it won't fit I'll throw a wobbly!😀
  21. I feel your frustration! I had a similar situation with Evri recently. Three HM7000 chips and power banks from Hornby were delivered to the wrong address hundreds of yards away. . However, and this came some way to restoring my faith in humanity, the recipient took the trouble to drive round and deliver them to me! So kind and I was very grateful. I really must make more effort to use my local model shop in Paignton. But stock, price and convenience is the issue.
  22. The best imo is DPD with Evri (or whatever they are called now) way, way at the bottom.
  23. Royal Mail? It's in the lap of the Gods then and will probably be delivered to some one in Bognor Regis!😀
  24. Looks and runs OK with a few coaches on the 'Test Track'. (I'm in negotiations for possession of the attic room and only have a 2m back to back at the mo. Tactics include this test track, wheedling and fanatical DIY!😀) But this is the only way I can have a roundy roundy at the moment.
