  1. Could this be an opportunity to start a crowd funding exercise to run along side, so that the initial costs could be shared?
  2. Would this be a good opportunity to tie in with Hornby's interest in N gauge? We could do with a re-tooled 91, Mk IVs and DVT in N gauge too........
  3. Hattons weekly email this week lists as a new announcement, a box set of 4 MkIIIs in blue/grey livery, 1x1st class and 3x2nd class, product code is CM002 . Would this be C&Ms cancelled set coming out after all, but as a general release I wonder?
  4. Just ordered a set. Definitely my period but no where near the geographical area I'm interested in, but I've always had a soft spot for Scotrail livery. Roll on the DBSO and 47... What's next? Farish Transpennine MK2a's & BG ? You know it makes sense... And the artwork should have already been done for the OO Model Rail Ltd Editions (for the Mk2s anyway)
  5. Shouldn't the swallow buffet NC216E have the red buffet stripe on half, and nothing (standard class) above the seating half, and not the full 1st class yellow stripe along the top?
  6. Sounds like a great idea. I never got anywhere close to completing the 2011 challenge which was to be based on OOC. Still tempted to have a go at a slightly larger version though with a running line to. You've even nearly nicked my layout name (although I can't really complain as it never got further than a board!) http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/37293-old-elm-park/

    Tanks a lot

Really convincing- would you mind sharing your technique as I have a rake of TTAs and TEAs to do?

perhaps you could offer the 6 wheel milk tank chassis on it's own, so previous manufacturers' attempts can be re-used?! http://flic.kr/p/7w4DfS

Are there any nasty surprises that will arise when the IC Swallow version appears? (lower body colour not matching for example?)
  10. Right its time to get my back side into gear. I've even got an idea and been trawling the web for photo inspiration and potential purchases. Could I just clarify- is it the diorama itself that needs to fit in the dimensions stated, and any baseboard depth, fittings (such as hinges etc) falls outside of these measurements? Cheers Stu
  11. Video on youtube of 008 being loaded just before Christmas:
  12. why do PTA/JUAs have to have so many markings?

  13. They look as superb as the OO ones did. I wonder if they sell well, they might be persuaded to do a run of slightly tarnished ones? Can any one also tell me if I'm imagining it, but did some of the silver bullets carry the "Caledonian Paper" logo instead of either the ECC one or the NACCO one? I reminded me when I saw the logos on the Fox transfers website. Cheers Stu
  14. Ooohhhh way too modern for me I'm afraid. I'm firmly stuck in 1987 to 1992 ish Stu
  15. I couldn't really justify a powered version, but if they were to bring out a dummy in INTERCITY, I'd get one for a Sunday drag away from the wires. Probably unlikely that version would appear as a dummy though, more likely to be RF or FL, if they were to produce a dummy.
  16. Hattons must have received their order forms for the N gauge Silver Bullets, they are listing them at £20 a piece I don't mind paying for quality, but I was expecting around the £15 mark. Think I'll have to grow the rake a bit slower than I'd anticipated.
  17. ahhh right, I didn't realise they were his own, figures now though as the text around them relates to them- I did think they looked a bit different. Good stuff then, should raise the bar for factory finished weathering then.
  18. hmm looks like the splatter gun has come out to play on the weathered example a bit. What happened to the version which was supposed to be factory finished shown on their website? Silver Bullet First Factory Finished Photo I'll still be buying 6 n gauge shiny ones though!
  19. How about a model of 40145 in large logo, or 55022 with 4 or 5 other preserved diesels heading off to a gala somewhere. ISM dummy chassis ideal for the ones being dragged. Or even a 66.... http://www.therailwaycentre.com/NewSite%20POD%202008/POD09_05_08.jpg
  20. So when are the N gauge ones out, before Christmas too (fingers crossed)
