Thanks, had not realised these ones were potential donors.
Unfortunately a quick look on the web and (annoyingly) even places with them listed with a price are "Out of Stock".
Will keep my eye out.
Are you able to confirm the old Lima body will fit onto these Railroad chassis.
Even using that R number still can't find a Hornby service sheet.
Of course all this assumes the railroad motor is better than a serviced, wheels kept clean Lima motor in the first place!
Just to add to the confusion there is an old Hornby version of the Virgin HST aswell.
Monk Bar Models in York have several sets in stock they will do mail order via the web or over the phone 01904 659423 http://www.monkbarmodelshop.co.uk
I work there a couple of days a week and we still had sets yesterday.

Only the powered car is DCC ready and has headlights but no tailights. The dummy car doesn’t have any pickups hence no head or tail lights.

Where? Can't see them making obscure LSWR era 4-4-0s with watertube fireboxes.

The red spot says Hornby ambitious plans for 2020.

If Oxford wanted to exploit the RM family some more then it probably would not retool the RM, because a new tool for an RML would be have better financial prospect altogether, and cover a whole lot of liveries not suitable for the RM. If it used the clear plastic body format then flush glazing, indicator ears and a better platform arrangement could all be incorporated. Probably needs someone to make a detailed case for it and put the case to Oxford.
Whilst I’d be all for a better RM/RML Mike, I’d rather have some common 1960s 1970s and 80s cars....and some lorry cabs of a similar vintage.
Decals and adverts have been added to the RML and everything given a coat of satin varnish. I’ll post some pictures once it’s properly dry and reassembled.

Good luck with that.....train planning is a bit of a dark art. Even with all the computer systems we used to find the odd error crept through. Usually one unit being used twice or a train being formed of a non existent inbound service. It got to the stage where they used to supply a weekend list of E&OE!

Yes I agree Grahame. There isn’t even any glazing for the rear window on the lower deck.

Certainly towards the end the Exec livery were mostly B4. As always check against photos.

The four main body parts have had an overnight bath in Nitromors. I’ll get them cleaned up today and after making sure everything fits glue the front and back halves to each other......pictures to follow.

I don’t have a piercing saw so had to make do with the Dremel. If I do another conversion I’ll probably get one.

I’d second the more modern bus.
Less than 60000 Ranchos built between 1977-85.

The latest vehicle from RailNscale is the Simca Matra-Rancho. Not in 1/148 yet but I’m sure they will scale it up if asked.
2020 predictions?

Fingers crossed again for a Class 25/3......must be more chance this year as I’ve converted on from a 25/2 now.
I can a 63ft DMU coming along. c117 would be good c119 better....3H even more so.
New wagon, FFA/FGA container flats.
New liveries on the 100ton tanks likely.
