  1. Been playing around with some low angle shots of the layout over the past week or so whilst operating the layout. Here are a few of the pics.
  2. With the feather lit and a single yellow, 86425 will head across over to the slow line and into Warrington RMT.
  3. Managed to have a play . They run very smoothly and made a nice long rake of vans, 4 Sfins, 9 Dapol IWB and 2 IZA pairs. Got quite a bit of weathering to do. Cheers Simon
  4. The Revolution IWAs have arrived this morning. They look superb, ordered 2 plain silver and 2 Cargowaggon livery. Will hopefully get chance to run them later though did manage to take some quick pictures. Thanks to the Revolution team for another superb model.
  5. A hot sunny day in June and 92001 hurries south through Dallam as a HST accelerates away from Warrington Bank Quay.
  6. 92009 Elgar has joined the Dallam fleet. This is the unnumbered version I won in the Kain Harkins raffle on the UK N gauge modelling FB page. This version comes with a sheet of transfers with various numbers, names and logos. I decided on 92009 Elgar which is not on the sheet so got the 3D plates and numbers from Railtec and used the Railfreight Distribution transfers from the sheet supplied. This will be left now and varnished at a later date, etched arrows and Crewe Electric depot plaques will be added then along with the 3 rings on the side. I may also renumber 92003 using the spare decals on the sheet.
  7. With the feather and single yellow set, 66135 is seen heading slowly towards the up/down goods at Warrington Bank Quay.
  8. That does make a difference then! Fortunately can just stick with this one (for now!). Cheers Simon
  9. Hi Steven, the TPM kit already had the Farish chassis with it. I think the NGS one now comes just as body only so will require a chassis.
  10. With the feather and single yellow set, 66135 is seen heading slowly towards the up/down goods at Warrington Bank Quay.
  11. Another simple project for a Saturday. This VCA van kit has been built from a TPM kit, which although no longer available from TPM, the N gauge society now produce. The MOD purchased a quantity of ex VCAs during 1999 and overhauled them for general traffic. They were painted blue sides yellow ends and recoded PDA. This will be another vehicle for the 6O12 Enterprise working on Dallam. Also a picture from a running session earlier.
  12. 60078 rolls under Bewsey Road with a loaded MGR for Fiddlers Ferry.
  13. Happy New Year Duncan, Yes got a few items on the way from Revolution. Also got a few NGS kits to finish. With the resprays, it has certainly felt like I have done all my loco fleet! Got 3 90s which will be getting started over the coming weeks along with quite a bit of stock to weather. Cheers Simon
  14. A nice simple project this evening, building 20ft MOD containers from the C-Rail kits. Will leave for a day or 2 for the solvent to harden before cleaning up ready for painting. With regards the KFA types used, looking on Flickr shows both bogie types in use for MOD traffic. Just need to make a few VCAs up in MOD blue and yellow. Cheers Simon
  15. Hi Dave, The 92 looks spot on, great weathering. Cheers Simon
  16. Along with the 325, a 175 would be good! Although would a 317 be more likely to go alongside the 313 and likewise a 318 to go with the 314? Cheers Simon
  17. Hi Trev, They look very nice Would be a shame to have them on the scrap line! Cheers Simon
  18. Nice work on the figures, looking at those last pictures would struggle to guess whether N gauge or 00! Cheers Simon
  19. Hi Tim, Thanks, yes the 142 was a bit of a challenge with working out how to do the masking. I just used the contact form on the Precision website, I had used the same for the ex GMPTE 142s that I did. John replies usually in 24 hours. Cheers Simon
  20. Mk3 sets could be either DVT, 2x FO, 1 RFM, 5 TSO, loco or DVT 3x FO, 1 x RFM, 5 xTSO. For added interest, additional vehicles which were being moved between depots were added 'locked out of use' between loco and stock. Virgin West Coast HSTs 2 x FO, 1 x RFM, 4 x TSO, 1 x TGS. There were 3 Virgin West Coast HSTs, set numbers VW40, VW41, VW42. The spare kitchen car 40619 (usually kept at Longsight) retained Intercity livery so would add variety to a full Virgin rake. Oxley Push Pull sets consisted of DVT, Mk2 FO (2or 3) Mk3 RFM, Mk2 SO x 5. Cheers Simon
