  1. Evening everyone. Over the last few days I have managed to video a few different trains and make a longer video than usual. Although only 5 minutes in length, it seemed to take me a while ! 🤣 Cheers Simon
  2. Hi Everyone, Hope you all had a good Christmas and maybe received some modelling items. Managed to nip in and out of the garage for the odd quick play yesterday and today. Cheers Simon
  3. Thanks Rich, personally I think they are stunning. They are very smooth and quiet. Only grumble like has been mentioned are the unpainted busbars and insulators. Needless to say I will be getting more! Merry Christmas Cheers Simon
  4. A second class 90 has arrived today, this being 90004 in Virgin. Put straight onto the layout and like 90019, it runs really smoothly. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas. Cheers Simon
  5. 90019 Penny Black pushes a Lancaster to Euston as 90004 City of Glasgow heads a Euston to Glasgow. 47761 ticks over in the background.
  6. With regards to the roof equipment moulding, I had half an hour spare earlier so had a go at painting the insulators and busbars. I painted a thin coat of Klear on first and then added the paint. Will give a second coat tomorrow.
  7. Graham Farish class 90, 90019 on test earlier on Dallam. Very smooth and quiet. Cheers Simon
  8. It is a very smooth runner. Certainly a lot quieter than the old version. Cheers Simon
  9. Hi Stephen, The Dapol Mk3s are done the same (not checked my Farish MK1/2s), sort of half way, they are in line with the gangway when for coupled, the buffers should have the saddles removed and pushed back, coupled to a loco (not using buckeye) the buffers should extend past the gangway. I think all model locos 33/1, 73/coaches which feature this coupling arrangement (even in 4mm) have had a compromise in this area. Cheers Simon
  10. 90019 Penny Black on hire to Virgin trains. Mine has just arrived and it is a stunning model (dare I say model of the year??), done several laps of the layout in push mode with a rake of 8 Dapol mk3s and a DVT and through a few different crossovers in the fiddleyard again in push mode with no derailments etc.
  11. 66135 on an engineers train as a class 142 passes above.
  12. Thanks Rich, yes think my big coat might be wise, I do have a portable oil fired radiator but very reluctant to plug it in and switch on! Noticed some of the locos I have tried have been slow to get going and need a few circuits to warm them up. Not really had an issue with this before but then the radiator was probably used more to keep the chill off. Cheers Simon
  13. A few more pictures from running sessions, it is getting noticeably colder in the garage.
  14. 60052 heads towards Warrington with a steel working from Garston, standing in for the booked 56. Picture framed by the CLC bridge and signal gantry.
  15. It is a bit of a mix really. Between Crewe and Winsford, Warrington to Winwick Junction the centre lines are fast lines. Between Golbourne Junction and Springs Branch it changes to a pair of fast and pair of slow lines. Between Euxton and Preston it is paired again. Cheers Simon
  16. A few video clips now the layout is all set up. First EWS 37520 and 90014. The second has a Scottish theme with 26007 on an MGR to Cockenzie, a push-pull and a Strathclyde 156 Cheers Simon
  17. 37886 and 37520 speed north light engine on the down fast.
  18. Received one body, not received the second but expect on its way. Thanks for sorting. Cheers Simon
  19. Looks great David. 😎 Regards the uncoupling, I was struggling, the older Farish coupling design works fine but some of the NEM couplers causing repeat issues. With all the fixed rakes on Dallam, I have put several drops of Johnson's Klear into the coupling pocket and that seems to have done the trick, stops the couplings bouncing up. With Klear it still allows easy removal of the coupler if you wish to change types at a later date.
