      I’ve been building, (OK - stopped decades ago), a 5” gauge Jinty. I’ve been searching China for a cheap 600mm vernier calaper ~(£70-ish) to continue machining the rods.

      Country lanes maybe, except they drive at 20 on those round here. (I don't take prisoners on them, the whole lots narrow..)

      Those driving at 40 are usually on a straight, wide A road with no traffic about on a perfect day... (With a huge tailback behind them)

      took me three months, had photos,they said checked hole a month before i hit it,it wasnt there they said,how could it dooh ! we ended up getting it back with our excess insurance.

      It turns out the'crater' I hit is 7' long, 21" wide and about 4" deep on the inside of a blind corner.

      I got a shock when I measured it, didn't think it was that big and I drive past it both ways on my commute
