Era modelled is 1990-1995. See you there Cheers Anthony
  2. Was a wonderful show Nick. Great to have a natter yesterday and finally see The Sidings in all her glory. I still cannot pronounce Maentwrog Road !! Until the next time... Cheers Anthony
  3. Was your mouth out Buick...I'm Distribution now I couldn't handle all the 'Sugar' in my 'Tea' Cheers Anthony Will do good sir. Looking forward to it Cheers Anthony
  4. I am hoping to make Warley again this year. I have not seen Tidworth in the flesh yet, but have been a follower of this thread from the start. Also it would be rude to miss it, especially with the NCE virtually on my doorstep. Cheers Anthony
  5. Stu it was an absolute pleasure meeting you on Saturday and seeing Portwey in the flesh. What a cracker of a layout this really is. Take care now and hopefully see yourself on the road again soon. Cheers Anthony
  6. You're welcome Dave. Oh yes, it's going to be some time before I even get round to the baseboards, never mind laying track! Have got all the plans though, in my head Totally agree with you on the resprays and also it's a nice feeling, knowing that you have something that not many others have. Also I tend to think that it's a nice feeling knowing that you have done that with your own two hands and as you say, not just an exercise of shopping. The only page's I have that you could possibly follow is my Flickr or Sutton St Annes on Facebook. My current layout thread is on the N Gauge Forum also the DEMU forum. Not got round to doing a thread on here yet. Trouble is, the more pages I have threads on and keeping them updated, the less time modelling! Yes very bizarre that they did't follow suit with numbering of the 90's. Cheers Anthony
  7. David This is just stunning! You're a man after my own heart, who myself is also a WCML fan. It pains me to say that I am a few years away from starting my own WC project, although I have been beavering away at loco's and stock for a few years now in readiness for it. Growing up in Coventry, both Coventry and Nuneaton were regular haunts for me through the 90's, as well as stations along the Trent Valley. These mainly being Rugby, Tamworth and Stafford. I did venture all over the network with my father when young, but once old enough most weekends and school holidays would be spent out and about on some sort of rover ticket, ticking off classes 86, 87 and 90 for haulage as well as classes 31, 37, 47, 'D9000', 56, 58, 60 etc that cared to drop on certain XC service's when a 47/8 either blew up or was not available. Happy days indeed and I really miss them, but my plan is to re create this in 2mm myself one day... R.E. your recent IC 87. Well being a big 87 fan myself, for me it would have to be 031. I currently have a few '7's' on the bench, one of these being 031 in IC Swallow also 034 William Shakespeare in old IC livery, which it carried until circa 1994 along with a small handful of others before giving away to the new IC Swallow livery. By 1995 all 35 87/0's were in IC Swallow. A recent addition to my fleet is the beast that was 87101 when she was re painted back into blue and under RFD ownership circa 1994. Note the tiny RFD diamonds under the cast numbers. I was tempted to do 101 in old RFD like yourself, but I remember seeing her loads of times in blue working Intermodals, but never in grey, so blue won it for me. 87101 by Anthony Sutton 37058, on Flickr Love your 90128 and 129, I have also completed these 2 for myself. Was never keen on SNCF 130. There was actually 4, the fourth being 90122 Freightconnection in standard RFD Euro, which of course is what 128, 129 and 130's names translated to in English. Modelling the WC is a real headache I find, as virtually everything loco wise needs to be resprayed for this era, well for my era anyway! My plan is is roughly 1993-1995 so lot's of lovely variety with blue, railfreight, sectors, early privatisation etc. Keep up the great work mate and looking forward to further updates. Cheers Anthony P.S. The recent shots of the 87 and 90 on the 4 track section through the cutting are just Hellfire! I can almost hear those traction motors of the 87 whaling away !!!
  8. Beautiful mate. Cannot wait to see it again at Showcase this weekend Cheers Anthony
  9. Cav Any new treats ready for DEMU? Have you completed anymore locos or rakes of stock? Cheers Anthony
  10. Looking forward to seeing BoT again at DEMU in a few weeks Cav. See you there sir Cheers Anthony
  11. Just catching up with everything Simon. Wow, the stunning work still continues. Fantastic. Really looking forward to viewing Dallam at Stafford. I shall be there on Saturday, so I'll be sure to pop by and say hello and spend some time at Dallam. Cheers Anthony
  12. Looking forward to it mate and get that MOJO back Yes, I have a few of the new DCC ready 47 chassis to work on. Adding extra pickups will be one of the jobs. Cheers Anthony
  13. Cav This is a real damn shame! I know what job my size 10 would have had that night Looking forward to more updates soon... Cheers Anthony
  14. Grid 10 certainly looks a real beast. Shame I couldn't stick around to view this. Hopefully now it's first show is over, you have come away with a head full of ideas also you can concentrate on the areas that need finishing (hopefully at a little slower, less panicking pace!) I bet it's next outing will be faultless. So the countdown is on...You have how long until BoT's next outing?? Cheers Anthony
  15. Just returned home from the Lichfield show and all I can say is WOW! Cavan you have made a wonderful job in recreating Burton, and it certainly captures the station and surrounding area very well for me. Here's to hopefully winning best layout at show? Got my thumbs up. Managed to grab a couple of photos, although I have had to doctor them, as camera not the best on my phone! Cheers and looking forward to seeing BoT again very soon. Keep up the great work mate Anthony
  16. Looking forward to finally seeing this masterpiece in the flesh. See you Saturday Cav... Cheers Anthony
  17. I shall certainly be at Stafford. One of my faves shows. That's ok Simon, I am still pondering on popping up to Wigan. Was going to drive, but checked the train times and Fares, and it's actually not to bad coming up from Nuneaton for the day - Cheaper than I first thought! Cheers Anthony
  18. Simon Excellent work on what will hopefully become 37674. Love coming online and seeing lots of lovely updates. Just noticed, are you going to be exhibiting Dallam at the Wigan show? I see that Coppell is down for going (1 of a handful of my favorite layouts) Think i'll pop along to the show, if SWMBO agrees to let me have some day release I see you have done the right thing and corrected the grey's on the Dapol 56, even if a mistake has been made whilst removing the decals, looks so much better, and a massive improvement as your right, Dapol's trainload grey's are wrong! I don't think they have released a model to date where the colours are correct, except for the unbranded and coal sector 58's which I have, and don't look to bad at all once weathered. 86415 also has this issue, also the Freightliner grey examples. I have a handful of 86's which in time will all be resprayed. Cheers Anthony
  19. Fantastic Simon. 379 does look a treat on the PFA's, and I remember 379 well. Oh to have a West Coast themed layout I am a WCML fanatic, I just don't have the time to build a large roundy roundy at present. One day though... If you want those ends for 116, drop me a PM with your address, I'll send them up to you next week plus the buffers. A treat for keeping me entertained watching your wonderful layout grow. Cheers Anthony P.S. Mainline did go a little OTT with OH warning flashes. I remember seeing 37216 ex works, and seeing the flashes before the rest of the loco
  20. There are a couple of details differences on mine, but overall I am happy with her for my personal collection. Cheers Anthony
  21. 116 you say... Yes, I already have her in the fleet. I used a 254 body, removed and filled the horn recesses and used a pair of ends from a spare 514 body. Turned out alright. One niggle is when I modelled her, I totally forgot to join the cantrails from across the nose ends to cab side windows! I shall sort this at some point though. If you need a pair of ends, I will gladly supply you with a pair, as I do have a spare set, but they are minus the PCB light boards. Drop us a PM Simon, I'll sort you out. I'll even throw in a set of round buffers too A detail note: On the other side at the No.2 end, there is a small grill under the engine room window and to the right of that grill there is a raised panel. This needs to be filed down so that the nameplate sits in the correct position. But only if you really want too... Cheers Anthony
  22. Excellent Simon. Looking forward to seeing 710 complete. You have certainly given me a kick up the bum to start mine now! 674 is a great example for the time. Easily re worked from a 406 model and fill the ETH bracket holes. I have looked into producing those 2 tiny brackets above the marker lights, but in 2mm, I think we can give those a miss. Cheers Anthony
  23. Sorry Simon. I didn't mean to come across as 'oh it shouldn't have this or should have that' It's just what I would do, as I have already researched and looked into either 710 or 713 for myself. Personally I would re work. You have made a grand job, and it would be a shame to spoil it now. It wont take much to fill the steps then lightly rub down and blow over again in black. Once glossed, everything will pull together. Then apply the transfers, final light coats of satin varnish and bobs your uncle as they say. I note further down the thread you have mentioned 513, 516 & 517...Filled engine room windows would be wrong at this stage for a 37/5 example, and beings you have the flush boiler roof section, none of these would be suitable either. This is the way I would look at it, as I'm a blinking rivet counter! I'm being silly now, but if you have a spare pair of 37/4 ends you could easily do 884. Flush boiler roof section, filled engine room windows, just need the centre steps filling...No, you're like me and want an ex side indicator beast in Loadhaul Cheers Anthony
  24. Just having my usual weekly catch up Simon. Fantastic work as always my friend. A Loadhaul 'heavyweight' 37 is currently on my list of jobs to do. Although I do have a 37506 body lined up with the ribbed boiler roof section for either 710 or 713. I shall be doing the same, filling the engine room windows at the No. 1 end also filling the centre body side steps either side of centre the engine room door each side. This is one project I have been putting off for a while! But since I currently have 3 Europhoenix 37's on the bench for customers, it's not as hard as I had imagined (especially not after tackling this Euro ROG livery!) Keep up the great work Cheers Anthony
