is watching the queues of sheep waiting to enter the muddy slaughterhouse that is the Glastonbury Festival. My sister went there once with her ex-boyfriend, and the state of the toilets left a permanent impression in her memory. Apparently the huge volumes of mud gave her just a taste of what it must have been like in the trenches during WW1, but without the bullets, other ordinance or the noxious gas.....

  I went once, as a student, back in 1987 - before it became a corporate muzak snoozefest. Once was definitely enough. Mud everywhere, and it was not glorious. Some of the music was, though! Particularly remember great sets by New Order, Husker Du, Taj Mahal, Robyn Hitchcock and The Blue Aeroplanes..

  I've been going since 1982, not going this year but have been down on site to set up stall. Very wet but will be fine for the weekend.
