Hi,
At the risk of my membership, if I were a moderator I'd spank Andy Y's btm and move the Farish items to the appropiate part of RMweb...
I'm constantly surprised when N modelers miss stuff because the simply don't look at the OO section of a manufacturers topic.
Regards, honest, Gerry.

Hi,
Ben A posted on another forum today:
In answer to the question about the APT-E - this has now reached minimum numbers and once we have finalised the exact specification with Rapido we'll be opening the order book properly.
Cheers
Ben A.Yay!

Hi tltr (hope you don't mind the informality),
I really like the scalescenes small modern station, but I don't have a colour printer
If you've downloaded the pdf then you could copy it to a usb memory and take it along to a local print shop, just make sure they print it at 100%.
The only downside would be if you need spare pages, going back might possibly be a bit of a pain.
Reminds me I must get my printer sorted...
Regards, Gerry.

Hi,
Show Guide with Floorplan arrived this morning, I've already highlighted the seating areas as I'll inevitably be spending far too high a proportion of both my days in recovery mode. Full set of said pens will be employed marking the priority layouts, hopefully I'll get around more for the undoubted pleasant surprises...
Regards, Gerry.

Hi,
email notification from RoS Wednesday, arrived Thursday lunchtime:
Hopefully I should put it together and run in over this weekend, although I'll be saving myself as much as I can for the Warley show...
Enjoying the product guide and suitably touched by the dedication to the memory of Mike McGrattan.
Regards, Gerry.

Hi,
John has also produced a small modern station building based in part on my local at Butlers Lane:
https://scalescenes.com/product/r003a-small-modern-station/
There's a couple of interesting RMweb pages on it:

Hi,
My Kato N scale SD70ACe arrived on Friday but once again had to await better daylight to get passable snappery...
There is a full description and a 'view larger' graphic of the various livery elements here:

Hi,
Latest from Tower - 45xx delayed to 2Q 2019
I was certain I'd seen something somewhere about that but couldn't find it to link to. Quite happy to wait a little longer, there's a minor 'perfect storm' underway at the moment of other delayed products surfacing...
Regards, Gerry.

Hi Tom,
Originally the plan was for Dapol to tool the model for both early and later cab widths and two different tender capacities. I wonder if that plan remains the same?
Tom.
The one source in any depth from the open day I've seen:
Someone asked if all versions of the tender were to be modelled and the answer was "yes".
Regards, Gerry.

Hi Kris,
I pre ordered one of these through a retailer when first announced. I suspect that I will keep my order with them.
I'd tend to think you should check on that, if this is going to be 'crowdfunded' I doubt there would be a dealer margin for your retailer?
Regards, Gerry.

Hi,
First limited information direct from Dapol I've seen in the Collectors Club newsletter by post today: "UK tooling commissioned - Research/CAD CAM stage" but no suggested timing or specifics on types.

Hi,
Just wondering whether there has been any progress on the mogul. I'm newly back into 2mm and layout in mind could do with a few!
Just received and responded to an email requesting fresh expression(s) of interest.
https://djmodels.co.uk/product/n-gauge-gwr-churchward-6300-class-2-6-0-mogul-expressions-of-interest
Design work is underway, but depending on how many people sing up will depend on how long it takes to bring it to market, as ever it takes time for me to build up the prerequisite personal funding, so i might offer this as a crowdfunded one instead to get the ball rolling quickly so the factory can move onto this right after the King model clears production.
I have not kept your details from the previous site, so please treat the link as a whole new 'expressions of interest'
Regards, Gerry.

Hi,
In the opening line of RevolutioN Trains #29 news letter, It's a monster...project round up!

My wallet is surprisingly relaxed with the project timings therein...

Hi Derek,
Some discussion and modification starting about here:
http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/57823-lion-heart-trains-rtr-in-o-gauge/?p=2675408
It's mixed in with other Lionheart items but primarily relating to modifying the tail lamp and door drop light position.
I have the GWR Birmingham 4 coach set, planning some passengers and probably a little light weathering but delighted with mine.
Regards, Gerry.

Hi,
Also enjoying the this, remembering the RMweb thread on warning signs for model railways a couple of years back, I posted then:
Hi,
Just for fun I purchased a couple of Discworld stickers a few years back, I hasten to add that even if the layout gets completed I don't have any notion that it'll get to any shows

Can't imagine a more appropriate application once you're ready for public exhibition! (I'm fairly sure TP would have had 'views' on self-referential quotes).
I've also worked up for my own layout a modern day van logo for a combined assault on the public of culinary repasts from the team of C.M.O.T. Dibbler and Mrs Miggins (of Blackadder infamy).
Looking forward to more.
Regards, Gerry.

Hi,
Latest Dapol update:

60% of the way there!

Hi,
The RRP for a standard run King is quoted at £169.95, the £135.50 is for the initial funded run only.
Do people no longer return faulty goods for replacement/refund? I have a great deal of respect for Dave so I'm not concerned about the quality expectation, but if it's wrong it goes back like anything else.
Regards, Gerry.
-
Hi,
£199?
I had missed that part of the announcement.
Not mentioned in that quoted RRP is which specification? - DCC Ready/DCC Installed/DCC Sound Installed. On the other hand the comparable DJM King is due to jump to £169.95 RRP when they go into general production rather than the initial funded versions.
I'm glad that they are back as they are a 'must have' but the days of buying multiple examples of the same type almost by default are over for me...
Regards, Gerry.
-
Hi,
Mentioned in passing, understandably, on two N Gauge forums after the Dapol Open Day, very interesting prospect.
I'd guess there would also be an interest in Dapol 'shrink-raying' them down to OO and N - I would certainly be up for O and N...
Regards, Gerry.

Hi,
Excited! From Rapido Newsletter #104:
Allowing for RoS getting their pre-orders the Chrimbo self-prezzies should be sorted then
Regards, Gerry.

Hi,
Is it my imagination or have Hattons put the price up of certain o gauge locos ie class 03 and 25/3. I could have sworn that they matched tower models up until a day or so ago.
Could well be related to this?:
http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/137434-Heljan-pricing-15-discount-rule/
Presumably it'll affect other suppliers.
Regards, Gerry.
