  1. OMG Phil. I can't believe you have chopped it up, but the new space does look great. Good luck with the rebuild. Dave
  2. Sounds like an interesting idea Phil. I think that most of us have thought about a helix or two at some point. I was considering them in my loft when I started Chadwood but I didn't really have a clue what I was doing. Now you have planted the seeds in my head again i may have to start thinking about it again! Good luck with planning permission from the wife council. Dave

Only just found your layout thread Iain and, although it really is not my era at all, it has been an interesting read. I love your big shed. That's given me ideas for future years! Your track building looks great and your ballasting is spot on. Then to top it off you scratch build that girder bridge in just an hour and a half? That would take me a year and a half! Great work and I am looking forward to your updates. Dave
  4. Any chance the mother-in-law could scratch build me a shed for First Avenue? Oh well, worth a try. Dave
  5. I must admit I forget to read the blogs most of the time, but just stumbled across yours and read it all. I love the idea of the school fundraising show. As an ex-PTA chairman myself, I had thought about this many times myself but I managed to keep my mouth shut fortunately! Let me know when the date is confirmed and I will see if I can help in any way. COME ON YOU RAMS !!! Regards Dave
  6. Love your last pic Leon. Looks nice a lovely bright day in South Wales.
  7. OOPS! I should have looked back or remembered that you had already posted that. Sorry! Thanks for the info (again) I have the blended turf, so need to find a local stockist of the course turf and clusters I think.
  8. Phil I like the grass / weeds between the tracks in your last picture. Could you tell me exactly what you used as I can't seem to get it quite right on First Avenue. It always seems to go too flat. Dave
  9. I'm glad to see you remembered to mark the wires! Good luck with all of that soldering. Great work. Dave
  10. I'm liking the look of the new corner Phil.
  11. Your layout is looking as superb as ever Leon. Those last few photos have real depth and so much going on with the van, the lighting towers, locks, wagons, buildings, etc. fantastic mate. Dave
  12. Great work on the bridges and the tunnel. Fantastic attention to detail. Dave
  13. Guy I would definately recommend the containers as a first Scalescenes project. They are definately the easiest kit that I have downloaded so far and will give you a good feel for what is involved. Also, if you get it wrong you haven't wasted much with a container. Dave
  14. Phil Your Scalescenes containers look good. you are making much faster progress than me with them. I have even got them all printed and stuck onto card, but still can't seem to find the time to get them finished (must stop playing MW3 on the PS3!) Looking forward to seeing the industrial buildings. I've been waiting for those to come out, but now they have I have no idea where I would put them! Dave
  15. The crane looks awesome in Freightliner colours. Will you be doing yours the same? I can see I am going to have to buy one now you have shown me those photos, but I have no idea where it will go. Maybe an extension to First Avenue? lol Dave
  16. The Crane kit looks good mate. Where did you get it? I see what you mean about the "hideous orange". That's gonna take some weathering to tone it down a bit. lol Dave
  17. Good progress as usual mate. You are starting to make the scenery work look easy! I especially like the industrial unit with the containers outside. A good use of space there. Dave
  18. finally found the "content I follow" button, hidden within my name in the top right.

Yea! Well done. I thought it had gone forever and never thought to look for it.

  19. Yes, a great "how to" in creating trestles. I have bookmarked this page for future reference as that looks a lot cheaper method than buying ready made, which seem so expensive these days. Many thanks! Dave
  20. Is it just me or is there any echo in here? Is it just me or is there any echo in here? (with reference to posts #148, #149, #150 by the way!)
  21. Great photos Neil. Could you post a link to this guide please? I have been on the Bromsgrove Models website but can't find it. I am interested in the extra pickups. Thanks Dave
  22. many thanks to Gwiwer for your in depth investigation into these problems. I am going to try your solutions out on my 66s and I'll let you know how I get on. Dave
  23. I look forward to your findings as 2 of my 66s have been sidelined with this problem, which seems such a waste. Dave
  24. As Cav has already said, those trees look great. I'm off to google the kit now! The security cameras are a great touch and just add that touch of realism. Great work! By the way Cav, looking forward to seeing Outon Road at DEMU on Saturday. Dave
