  1. At least the CN one had the right number of wheels....
  2. Simon - the washing up was much appreciated by Mrs Northpoint aka Liz!
  3. A big thanks you to all who came and contributed. A throughly enjoyable weekend - again! Many, many highlights to take from it. Excellent!
  4. Cardwell is wired and works (or at least it did last time I tested it!), signalled, although, again, I don't know whether we will be able to include the signalling in the ops. Still work to do on some buildings and detail. I'm out all day tomorrow, cooking all day Friday so I'll see what can be done Wednesday and Thursday. Whatever happens, it will be there at 8am on Saturday.
  5. Some photos from the layout's latest outing at Bournville (Birmingham) yesterday. A nice friendly show but, unfortunately, no chocolate!
  6. Trouble is, Martyn, we still can't get to the kitchen serving hatch...!!
  7. I can bring all my CN, CP and VIA stock......
  8. Mind you, if the one in Michigan is anything to go by, it would be pronounced "My-lan". As for Cairo, I can't comment...
  9. Looking interesting, Martin. I must say you are very brave appearing in your videos like you do! Can I ask you a favour - next time you're over my way can you come and tidy my office/railway room and make it look as neat as yours! Look forward to seeing progress.
  10. We're all as bad as each other!! I don't know who it was said it was the tenth - not me, I just went along with it! Actually, next year will be 8, not 10! Still expect a good turnout, though.....
  11. I've counted the pennies and we are a little bit short compared to previous years. However there is enough in the cookie jar to run again next year. So, 10th aniversary - I expect a good turnout. A request was made for an O scale theme - OK, I can't devote the whole show to it, but I already provisionally have 5 O scale layouts and 2 On30 plus a couple of HO. Date: Saturday 17th June 2017.
  12. Some video: Always a possibility, Paul.
  13. Hopefully, after Rob's good fortune, he bought us all lottery tickets on his way home! (I'll let him tell the story for those that weren't there!) But thanks to everybody who did come today - exhibitors, traders and visitors, plus of course those who helped behind the scenes. The feedback has all been positive so we must be doing something right! A pleasure to meet old and new acquaintances. Good luck Prof on the remainder of your trip around Europe, and I hope everybody had a safe journey home.
  14. ... and I thought I was up early!!
  15. The room has been cleared and marked out so see you tomorrow.... PS yes - 10 years next year! PPS - it's stopped raining.
  16. Given the torrential rain for the past 3 hours or so, it will be in everybody's interest to be inside. I'm just about to go up to the venue to start clearing away the chairs etc and mark out. I have a feeling i'm going to get rather wet. Let's hope it's a bit drier tomorrow!
  17. I'm still juggling with the plan so there might be a few last minute changes despite having e-mailed the plan to all the participants.
  18. I don't want you coming on Saturday with paint still wet, Rob! That would never do!!
  19. Yes, Andrew - I have access to your diary!!
  20. Looking good as usual, Jez. Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.
  21. Lookikng forward to meeting you Prof.
  22. Some of us will drink anything - isn't that right, Ray? I persuaded Mrs Northpoint to drive us out into the country for a drink or three this afternoon and guess what I found? A the Robin Hood, Bramshall, nr Uttoxeter.
