  1. Have a good day Mick....Don't forget guys, loads of pics for us poor sods stuck at home...
  2. All quiet on the western front.....Definitely tennis over F1 tomorrow. Much as I love F1, it's a no brainer for me. Seems most of the fans will be stuck in the car park at Silverstone from what I saw on the news this morning. Odds are it will be a wet race, but dry tennis with the roof closed...
  3. Seems I've lost another day or a few brain cells. I was convinced today was Saturday since I got up..... Losing the plot or what... Hope you all have a good day at Stafford tomorrow. Would love to join you but couldn't get a pass with a wedding just days away.... Stay dry if you can..
  4. Congrats Simon! Another big step to secure your future... .....and Andy Murray is now off limits. Into the semi's and fingers are crossed.
  5. Well he's working hard to make your prediction come true, but just levelled at 1-1..... I do hope he breaks the tradition this year...
  6. Great news Don! Pleased that you are well and back on line. The rest probably did you the world of good...
  7. An interesting and a slightly more upbeat article on our new boy, AVB. Can't say I was thrilled by the new appointment, but hopefully we may all be proven wrong. On the other hand..... http://www.guardian....dre-villas-boas
  8. All this talk of lightning and golfers reminded me of one of my favourite footballers, whom I often watched as a kid on the terraces at White Hart Lane. A tragic loss and an interesting article from his son... http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2011/mar/12/tottenham-hotspur-footballer-john-white
  9. Going back a few years, Trev, the electronics company I ran was taken over by ML Holdings who owned a whole stack of companies. One was in DD's neck of the wood, ML Lifeguard, who built inflatables in Ruthin and another built small to medium airships in Cardington sheds. I think they either went bust or moved elsewhere and there was a whole stack of new office furniture available to other group companies. Needless to say I was straight on my bike over there to replace some of the old stuff we were working with. I was familiar with the buildings having lived near them for a few years, but nothing prepared me for the size once you stepped inside. They were absolutely huge and way bigger than any other building I have experienced in my life. Just impossible to describe to anyone. The length, breadth and height beggared belief.... Loved the roundhouse pic, Pete. Not sure how it would fit within ET, but I was tempted for a second or two....
  10. Congratulations to you and all the team on your magnificent achievement, Dave! It's wonderful to see all that hard work finally come together... Had a mail last night from 'darling daughter' with an 8 page schedule of wedding timings. Everything seems to be covered other than pee breaks so I'll just need to keep thinking of England should the need arise. I was a little concerned with two entries with times listed as 'eye lash extensions' and 'eye brow shaping'. Will it hurt?.....
  11. Oh, he's gorgeous says a smiling Mrs S! ..... Good choice of name Dave. Ours are Archie and Golly...
  12. Morning all......(There used to be a 'yawn' smiley but it's gone). 'Murrayed' out after last nights tennis. Only the Brits could set a time deadline on a match finishing on the grounds of H & S. I was waiting for the lights to go off with just one game to go. What a farce. No wonder we can't generate champions with that logic.
  13. Sorry to hear that Don. Hope all goes well. We'll be thinking of you....
  14. Not me. Never went into one bunker in 18 holes. Probably because I was deep in the rough most of the time..... And when I say deep, I mean deep....Up past my knees in a lot of places...
  15. Hope all is well 'pop north, BoD. Whilst we were out slogging round a golf course in the blazing sun, you were getting the short straw. Amazing how you can have such a difference in climate conditions just a few hundred miles apart. The film of Leicester and then Gateshead on the news this morning was such a surprise....
  16. Jeez, Germany and Nadal both go out in the same night... What odds could you have got on those two results?......
  17. What a night! Germany going out to Italy and one of the best tennis matches I've seen with Nadal going out of Wimbledon Where on earth has Lukas Rosol been hiding?.......
  18. Latest news....Geoff romped home in the big match, with Eldavo second and yours truly trailing a distant third. However all was not total doom and gloom. Won the prize for the most lost balls, probably more than 6 but less than 10 and romped home in the downing a pint competition. I think the latter more than made up for the former.... Boy, was it hot though, even in shorts....
  19. I think it will be shown in Telletubbies....
  20. Thanks Mick! With just 17 days to go the tension is being racked up with every phone call/email and tempers seem to be getting shorter by the minute. I'm quite glad to get away from it all today.... Like most things in life, the details take far more time than the basics. I just wish kids would understand an effort v return curve. Hours of work for something that will get noticed for minutes at best seems a complete waste to me, but then what do I know about life....
  21. Stop talking about rain. Some of us have to play golf today. At least it's sunny here...
  22. We're a bit short of mountains down here in Berkshire, DD, so as yet I have no idea about landscape shots. A Google brought these up.. http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=fuji+x10+landscape+pics&hl=en&client=safari&rls=en&prmd=imvns&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=XKfqT_xUhqjxA9LVxNQF&ved=0CEIQ_AUoAQ&biw=1416&bih=906 Eastwood 1? You cheeky git..... Morning all. Sun is out and all is well with the world.
  23. Bumped into this young lady this afternoon. Looks like she's made up to the nines, so obviously off clubbing......
  24. Just turned round in the garden and this young lady approached. Just out of the paint shops by the look of her....
  25. Camera arrived courtesy of DPD. Most impressed with their service. They send you a mail one hour before the delivery confirming the time they will arrive and sure enough, they did. For a snapshot, pocket size camera, the quality is pretty good. A metal casing and very retro switches and dials. Looks about 50 years old but with modern electronics. Still trying various settings but first results are encouraging. Could be just the thing when you don't want to carry a DSLR and lenses about and keep reasonable image quality. Straight out of the box on auto setting...
