  1. The D&B still exists. Unfortunately its gone a bit upmarket these days
  2. Morning all, late on parade as still feeling carp (although not as bad as yesterday). A bright, sunny 5 degrees outside but I'm not overly interested. Another relaxing day today in the hope that I can return to work tomorrow. Grandadbob - I'm wondering if the helmet / bump cap is the right answer. Maybe pad everything except yourself. Jock - Your strength and compassion should be an inspiration to all of us. But, please look after yourself as well Andy - Glad to hear that your daughter is recovering well. Have a good day everyone
  3. Along with many other nuggets of retained information that would baffle the living snot out of any civi
  4. Morning all. 6 degrees here and a strange yellow globe in the sky. Hopefully that won't be around for too long today Happy Birthday Jim. Still feeling carp, but not as bad as yesterday. Hopefully everything will be back to normal tomorrow. Have a good day everyone
  5. First visit today. After 14 hours sleep, I decided I'd better get up and have some food and fluid. Then, promptly fell asleep again. On the up side though, I am starting to feel a lot better. Andy - Excellent news on your daughter being home. Jock - Where do you get the emotional strength? Supporting people on here and friends who are less fortunate than yourself must take its toll. Lets see what tomorrow brings
  6. That takes me back a few years. Nicely done
  7. Got a lot of work done today and got home at a reasonable time, then fell asleep. Woke up feeling like s**t. I might have caught the ER lurgy. Not going to go in tomorrow in the hope that I've recovered for Monday and another hectic week. Pete - is this snow due to stop? I can't see how there's much road movement going on with that much. Just glad we haven't got it here. If I don't get to post tomorrow, have a good day.
  8. Morning all. 2 degrees here. In the last 5 minutes we've gone from rain to sleet and now its snowing. Andy - having been in a similar situation a few years ago my thoughts are with you and your daughter. Oh well hi-ho time. Have a good day
  9. Interesting discussions. I got my degree from the University of Life and prior to that attended the Schools of Hard Knocks. However, on another physics related discipline, can the wood, screws and PIR exist in one place at the same time?
  10. For a change I managed to POE, however, thanks to a lack of management communication and decision making I now have to work the whole weekend. Bob - Look after that wound. At least there's no mud and grass in it these days. Andy - Hope your daughter is back from hospital soon. To those in the US, please keep warm and safe. I'm not sure if there are any ER's in Australia, but, if there are I hope the weather hasn't caused too many problems
  11. Announcement at ECR. All trains from here to LBG suspended
  12. Morning all. 5 degrees and overcast this morning. According to the Southern website delays between LBG and Sydenham till at least 07:30. Probably have a knock on effect on others. Hopefully POETS day today. Have a good one.
  13. After the bright start to today, everything went downhill. It rained, the job overran and to cap it all got stuck in some of the worst traffic I've seen for ages and got home late. On the bright side it's all back to normal tomorrow. Early start and pray that the trains behave.
  14. Progressing well, although I have to agree with Jason. At this rate the bunker will be bullet proof, bomb proof and temperature proof in the next couple of weeks.
  15. Morning all. Late on parade this morning as I don't have to leave until 09:30 to drive to Maidenhead and possibly an early finish as well. Bright and 5 degrees outside which makes a nice change. Have a good day everyone
  16. Morning all. 1 degree here but no frost, it just feels a lot colder. Again, no reported problems with the trains but I'm even more sceptical than I used to be. Have a good day today and stay safe whatever you're doing
  17. Evening David. I followed you here from KL2 just out of interest. Definitely well worth the time I've spent looking through the thread. Some stunning modelling and photography. I'm now waiting to see what else you come up with. BTW, IMHO you should add this to the Lunester community as a Lunester Layout
  18. No train problems my a***. 10 minutes late and not even an apology let alone an explanation. FUMING.
  19. Morning all. A bit chilly at 1 degree but at least it's dry after last nights rain. Again Southern are saying that "There are no reported incidents on Southern lines". After yesterday, very sceptical. Nothing on the BBC news site about any natural problems in Japan, so I can only assume that it was a false alarm (I hope) Have a good day everyone
  20. Have to agree about the rugby. Probably the most entertaining game of the weekend. Wales failed to take several chances and Scotland failed to use the chances they had. A well deserved last minute try for Scotland. If they continue to improve, they will give a few teams a scare in the summer and for the next 6 nations. Glad to here that your mother is improving, it can be a long and frustrating journey. Unfortunately bladder infections are relatively common when catheters are replaced.
  21. Got to the station to find that most of the trains have with been cancelled or delayed
  22. Morning all. Just a very quick visit this morning. 4 degrees outside but feels colder. At least its dry. Problems on Southern but nothing that should effect me getting to VIC. I was never any good at sports when at school. I don't know what happened but I've been reasonable at various sports as an adult. Have a good day everyone
  23. Evening Rob. Thanks for visiting. Unfortunately the project I'm on at the moment had been f****d up by people previously. I seem to have inherited the problems and have to sort them out as well as co-ordinating with other trades and supervising. It makes for interesting times but doesn't give me much time. I have to leave early and when I get home, after sorting out food, documenting what happened on site, caught up with various threads I can hear my bed calling. A lot of us are also having to work Saturdays to attempt to keep everything on track as well. Once this is out of the way (whenever that happens), I'm going to take a couple of weeks off to recharge and get some work done on HA. Although, to be honest, that will probably be around Easter at the earliest. The only advantage that I can see at the moment is that I can get lots of planning done before I rush in and royally screw it up. I don't know when it was withdrawn (I'll have to check), but it wouldn't look out of place on HA.
  24. The best laid plans...... They never happen. The plan was to finish off the walls for the pub this weekend ready for the next step. Thanks to having to work yesterday and the rugby today as well as having to make sure that I was ready for another busy week, meant that absolutely nothing got done. This isn't a case of me wanting to have something tangible to post on here to please people and failing miserably, it's a case of me wanting to record the fact that I'm getting frustrated with real life getting in the way of good, quality modelling time.
