It's been very quiet on here from me recently for a couple of reasons . First, we've been having long overdue work done on the house , the kitchen in particular that will keep SWMBO happy for a while.

Secondly, this effects this thread , the garage needs a new roof asap , although thankfully not leaking . New brickwork, fascia's and a lintel are needed and I need to prepare for the inevitable dust and debris this will cause. Protection of the layout is paramount and the roofer ensures me all will be ok although he's never done one with a model railway in situ ! Hopefully when done it will outlast me.

In other news a few goodies are due in the next few weeks but bear with me at this nerve racking time.

Hopefully the roofer, does a better job than he did on the Barn in Brent.

Please warn To Baldly Go to sit down quietly, as he is a bit fragile.

This is my initial bit of filth on the beautiful Accurascale Manor body (not chassis wheels etc yet.)

It needs 'blending' between shine and dirt I know, but just wanted to let TBG have a butchers and maybe he might say noooooooooooo!

I find it very difficult to get that dry grey dirt look with so called Matt Varnishes that always look a tad 'eggshelly' .

Anyone else dared to do theirs yet? It is a little daunting with such a gorgeous finish on the machine from the Box.

I'm not dead - felt like a storm trooper, stuck in a sausage stuffer followed by 8 hours waiting for Transport.

    Not dirty enough tbh

They are numbered differently but you'll have to ask @toboldlygo to confirm as I'm sure they were the dreaded Modelmaster.

Thankfully no it wasn't Modelmaster, it was Fox Transfers, I found a general lettering set that was close enough for the numbering

I had also noticed the discrepancy in the shade of grey, it's not as light as the original Hornby job with the giant moulded tail light, but I'm still likely to be getting out the paint!

I let Miss Riding Hood loose on five unsuspecting Toads, she likes dismantling things.

Now I had better see the job through, or I'll be reminded constantly....

Important safety advice - Don't Lick the TOAD's as they are poisonous...
