  1. ...30850 Lord Nelson that is Due to the weather I was unable to photograph her outside (did it in the conservatory instead), but here she is in slightly workstained condition, with a tender overflowing with coal and a little bit of limescale and oil thrown in. That's all for now...
  2. No you are not seeing things they are three links, although I have added an extra link on one end of each to enable them to get round tighter radii I've started fitting them to the front ends of Bulleids too
  3. From previous blog entries, my fellow RMWebbers will know that I've been building a few van kits. Up first are my Parkside Dundas duo of PMV and Plywood sided CCT. This just need transfers and weathering to complete Up next is a fantastic, if slightly fiddly kit to build Ratio's SR 28 Ton Bogie B Passenger Van. This needs the glazing and roof fitted, along with Transfers and weathering. Also there has been a surprise arrival in the shape a Bachmann LN 30850 Lord Nelson. Runs beautifully. I've drilled the chimney out and it is currently in the paintshop being weathered... I'll post pics when it is complete.
  4. With some help from my fellow RMWebbers a name has finally been decided on for Bionic Bulleid 3. Though not the clear winner in number of times it was suggested, I liked the sound of it (besides they will all get done eventually ) and that's what matters. Drum Roll Please.... ....Bionic Bulleid 3 is going to be... 34014 Budleigh Salterton
  5. Ok folks, sorry for the lack of updates, but have been busy with modelling and returning to work after a long layoff. As I have said a few times (not in these exact words though ), there is no such thing as a dead Bulleid.. Yes I'm talking Appledore 1.0 here, last seen festering on my layout in scrap condition. The loco body is completely U/S, but the rest is ok (tender top needs repairing though). So I'm talking about another Bionic Bulleid, I have the parts (another shop soiled rebuilt and the technology to rebuild... All I need to do is decide on an identity for Bionic Bulleid No. 3 (the others being Wadebridge II and SR Fighter Pilot) and that's where my good friends on RMWEB come in. I want to do one that I haven't done. So I've made a list and with your help, be able to whittle the list down to a shortlist of 3 or 4... With a 5,500gl Tender 34004 Yeovil 34005 Barnstaple 34012 Launceston 34013 Okehampton 34014 Budleigh Salterton 34017 Ilfracombe 34021 Dartmoor 34022 Exmoor 34042 Dorchester 34044 Woolacoombe 34047 Callington 34095 Brentnor 34097 Holsworthy 34101 Hartland With a 4,500gl Tender 34009 Lyme Regis 34032 Camelford 34096 Trevone 34108 Wincanton Oh well back to the model kits...
  6. Doctor Franken-simierski strikes again, keep up the good work
  7. Another week flies by and another dirty Bulleid rolls off the production line. In this case 34093 Saunton Also another kit build is nearly finished, in this case a Parkside Dundas SR Plywood sided CCT van will post some photos once it is finally assembled. Had a slight problem with the floor being twisted, but have sorted it out, using a bit of creative thinking Shock of shocks though I've ordered another kit to build....
  8. Did you respray the whole loco Graham, because the colour match looks spot on.
  9. Sings and roundabouts on that really.Photographic evidence, supports the fact that sometimes they were cleaned, while the rest of the loco were left dirty. A clean patch where the numbers are was common. Nameplates wasn't as much on the WC's as on the BOB's
  10. After the tragedy of losing Appledore off the paint stand, she's well and truly risen from the ashes. Here in all her grubby glory, may I present 34100 Appledore 2.0
  11. As the pictures are now back here's T9 30717 in all her grubby glory I'll post a few pictures of Appledore 2.0 a bit later today along with an updated pic of the PMV I've built. I've also got another renaming project on the bench, yes it's another rebuilt West Country - 34093 Saunton..
  12. Well it's been a week and most of that without RMWEB. It's meant that I've been able to get one loco finished (T9 30717) and another almost finished 34100 Appledore last seen plunging to it's demise off the painting table!!! As they say we have the technology, I had a spare donor thankfully. All will be revealed as to what they look like when the final kinks are ironed out of RMWEB's server move. Little tip to the guys a server provider - use a bigger Hammer
  13. Well after yesterday's mishap with Appledore. I decided to make a start on renumbering my latest T9. Starting out with a narrow cab version (30724), I carried out the bogie mod, swapped the pipes round and adjusted the contacts on the tender wheels. Fitted the detail, removed the cabside numbers and flattened the smokebox numberplate down (has two raised rivets that need to be removed to ensure a good fit of the etched replacement). I fitted the etched plate, applied the new cabside numbers, power classification, shedplate (72A) and early totems (crests). Yes she's 30717, I've also got the smokebox plate for 30718. Now comes the fun part of making her really dirty
  14. So much for 34100 Appledore being in the paintshop It currently lies totalled on the layout after it got knocked off the paint stand by yours truly and hit the floor smokebox first - it's not a pretty sight. Fortunately I have another donor...
  15. Another day on the TBG workbench and some progress has been made on the PMV. The body and chassis are as one and the buffers and couplings are fitted! Still a fair amount to do before I can say job done - glazing, transfers (must remember to order them), fit the roof, etc. Other news, Rebuilt West Country 34100 Appledore is prepped for the paintshop and it's first phase of weathering. And finally I've acquired another T9 for my fleet This will become either 30717 or 30718 as I have etched smokebox plates for either.
  16. Well a new RMWeb and a new start for the Bullied Nutters Lounge. New beginnings, but pretty much the same content;) First an update on the workbench 30803 Sir Harry Le Fise Lake is now finished and ready to enter service: My first kit build is going along quite nicely the Parkside Dundas PMV kit has gone together pretty well so far and the various sub assemblies are painted. Many thanks to Graham (Muz) for his pointers as to where to find the appropriate transfers. Also on my workbench, though I haven't made a start on it, is Rebuilt West Country 34100 Appledore. This is going to go through the weathering process. Layout Update Not a lot to report here, except some track has been relaid on the Bulleid Branchline and the layout itself needs a good hoover after the recent work on the roof.
  17. Without realising it, I have gone a bit mad on T9's... some how I now have 7 of them: 30120 renumbered from a donor 30724 by TMC, I've recrested to it's final BR Late crest livery (TMC had it as preserved in BR Lined Black Early Crest), real coal in tender. 30288 being renumbered from 30285 on an early crest, currently being lightly weathered, front coupling pocket removed, still on workbench. 30310 as bought, except for real coal in tender. 30338 renumbered from a donor 30310, late crest, lightly weathered, real coal in tender. 30717 renumbered from a donor 30724, early crest, heavy weathered, real coal in tender. 30718 renumbered from a donor 30724, late crest, medium weathered, front coupling pocket removed, still on workbench, requires weathering tweaks, varnish and coal to complete. 30726 tender frames corrected, currently in bits having it's factory weathering tweaked, I've also removed the front coupling pocket. The R27xx versions (30310 & 30724) have all had mods mentioned in earlier posts to vastly improve their running capablities. The R28xx versions didn't need anything doing on the loco's, but the tenders have required a little tweaking (frames on the 6 wheel and clearing the axle holes on the watercart for more play). Other news... I have acquired enough track to complete the BBL, now just got to build it!!! It's celebrity flexi-track by the way, it featured in James May's Toy Stories!!! Finally on the Bulleid front all the bits are now here to complete 34014 Budleigh Salterton...
