  1. Or any time before or after. I'm not fussy.
  2. Burt L., again, this time along-side Kirk D.,(Kirk's now breaking into 100 + years of age) in "Tough Guys". A (USA) rail (road) related (robbery) film, A film that has been featured, very rarely, on mainstream UK TV , https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QerGDkBDFWQ
  3. Who needs Topiary ? https://www.facebook.com/VizComic/photos/br.AboufxSutV2v1VxBANlSZqOcJrbxl4JyeA-8aaMokFEh0vj7NoEKDac4I760HZ2-b-BLWYfhewMbrjtrA8iVDUlgPOqYyL0g3vW56bsTw0yurB848QjUr9dKw1Z92WkCiYIBJ5QjqFgR1joHvYY7z6r2Qa7GhAcQns4ZynCRCsXbE6iPeYDJcfZlw1I2pccMRX0MJA9qLoX4IumSE06dCTLO/1254514747943303/?type=3&theater
  4. The cab's front appearance (face) doesn't look that bad, but I'll hang fire until I see a FYE version. Those cab front windows are, still, imo, too high. Either that, or they need dropping down, so that their base is level with that of the cab side windows. (Thinks --- I wonder if Kernow MRC can be persuaded to crowd-fund / commission Bachmann to provide an add-on, separate Cab end replacement, to aid scratch builders, of course) Regards, Ceptic.
  5. Hi Roger, I've just e-mailed you the Vector format drawings for the Canopy Valances. The rectangular 'Holes' in the Valances over Platforms 4 & 5 are to accept the Cross Bracing / Troughs. The ones pictured look a little on the 'heavy' side. They were. in fact, 12 inches high X 9+ inches wide, fabricated Channel (Open at the top). All the best. Frank.
  6. Recent news :- We've received a 'Cracker' of a (Copyrighted) photo from Pete Burton. A SWTrains Driver colleague / mate of my Son. Taken from a departing train, It shows the Eastern / Station end of the Box in greater detail. It also shows that the 'mysterious monolith' is not an advertising hoarding, but something that resembles 'Cleopatra's Needle'. It appears to be just to the rear of the entrance lobby, I kid you not. At a guess. I would say (In approx. Imperial measures) that it tapers from 1 Foot square at it's ground level base to 9 Inches square at it's top, which is just above the level of the Box's guttering. It's just a damn shame that I can't put the photo on here, to invite your comments. All the best, Frank.
  7. To quote a certain General Norman Schwarzkopf...."And, in his rear-view mirror !"....
  8. Next instalment. The row of ten 'Railwaymen's Cottages' with their accompanying Allotments. The model buildings alone, are approx. 5.5 feet (1400mm.) long. What a marvellous piece of modelling. It's just a shame that the prototypes (Including the station.) had to be demolished to make way for the 'Wessex Way' (The town centre by-pass.) The cottages in relation to the signal box. Which brings us on to the Signal Box. As you can see, this is in the 'mock-up' stage. The group are still hanging on to see if any further details come to light. Failing this. there's always Rule No.1 (See below) As a scenic break, the Group have chosen to invoke 'Modellers' License'. In this case 'Modellers' Licensed Premises', or 'MLP' for short (See Rule No.1:, Section: 1. Scenic Breaks / MLP:, Sub-section: 1 over the 8.) Namely 'The Railway' pub. The 'Back door'. and the 'Front'. The layout's scenic cut-off point is this three arch road over-bridge, based on Beechey Road's four arch Bridge No,15. To be continued..... All the best, Frank. P.S. Edited to conclude this reply. (Seems I cut meself off, Doh !)
  9. To top up Barney's and Roger's delightful close-ups, here's a few, both close(ish) and distant, (shaky) shots. The 'Queens Hotel', nears completion and is now at ground level. Note the extra 15mm added to the building's base in this first image. This locates in a ground level recess. That shown in the foreground of this second image awaits the station's buildings. Once a 'Strong & Co. of Romsey' public house / hotel. Now a 'Co-op Local'. The 'Skittle Alley''/ extension was, once, part of the Poole & Bournemouth Railway's / L&SWRailway's. Bournemouth's New (1874) Station's 'Refreshment Rooms'. These still exist, though not in their original form. Some shots of the station's ancillary buildings, starting on the north side with the 'Parcel's Office' and going clockwise. Sorry, my mistake. This is the (Goods) Yard Office, The 'Taxi Office' was a smaller building, set at right-angles to the far (southern) end (Newspaper images taken in the 1950s, when holiday traffic was at it's peak, show this whole forecourt 'plaza' teeming with crowds) http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/14331073.PICTURES__Remembering_the_vanished_railway_stations_of_the_Somerset___Dorset_line/?ref=fbshr#gallery3 The 'Store / Coal Shed / Cycle Shed / Lamp Rooms'. (Not in situ.) The 'Tank House' & 'Permanent Way Huts'. (In situ.) To be continued.... All the best, Frank.
  10. I had a conversation with one of the KMRC team at the South Coast MRC Show at New Milton, last summer. As the TC 4mm : 1foot first-off was on display I said to him that there were some concerns expressed about the model's cab ends' appearance, and that I had some photos, plans & notes, plus a 7mm : 1 foot model cab end and asked if they would be of help. His reply was that Kernow knew of the comments and that the model was already being tweaked / re-worked.
  11. A great head-on shot by Andy Gibbs. Pinched from Colin Parks' 4-CIG epic scratch build thread. http://andygibbs.zenfolio.com/p726940309/h2a5c746b#h2a5c746b
  12. Definitely something wrong with TC's front end looks, Kernow. Here's some details of various 2nd.Generation Mk.1,S.Reg Emus. You'll notice that the Orange OLE warning line is painted on and level with the cant-rail / guttering and follows this level over the top of the outer edge of the cab front windows' frames. You'll also notice that the outer edge to said window frames are not straight, but curved. This curvature does not follow the body-side curve though. I.e., the bottom window corners are further from the body-side than the top. Some close-ups. Regards Frank. P.S. Edit :- The cab front windows should be shorter (vertically) than the cable recesses. See Robert's photo.
  13. i dunno tho'. Reminds me of a bright, sun shiny day, and this pair of incorrigibles. Both played Bournemouth on Friday last. One received a review in the local rag. One did not.... Guess who ?
  14. I'd say 'Fizzy',.. for 'Starters'.
  15. The Asian Tees, Do they include instructions on how to wash them ?, (I do despair) let alone how to wear / translate their message. If this is the Global Community in action ?, then I retreat. back into my cave. As for the Edwardians, they always were a weird bunch, just take a look at the 'Teddy Boys'.
  16. We had an 'Anti-social Club' at my workplace. (An off-shoot of the regular company social club, which was too widely spread) Coach trips, Legoland / Thorpe Park / Chessington for the kids, Brewery tours, Boat-trips, (including Sea-fishing), Darts, Skittles. Snooker, Billiards, Ten-pin bowling, even Table-tennis, (Ping-pong) for the (So-called) 'Grown-ups' Great Bunch o' Lads...
  17. I'd a thought Hornby had caught a cold by producing too many 1st. Class only coaches. Just look at the number of recent Maunsell FKs still unsold.
