An interesting photo of Bacup on page 607 of Backtrack mag, vol 28, no 10, Oct 2014. Hull based ivatt class 4, 43077 and Nuneaton based stanier class 5, 42946 (or so it says) in July 1963.
Was the confirmation an email by Invicta? If it was, you need to contact them with current payment details. My batch were despatched within 24hrs of me doing this.
Had my EM conversion of the NCB model running on Kirkmellington at Expo EM last weekend and it was mentioned to me that it was fiction. Still, it looks good and runs sweetly so I can at least modify the livery a little without compromising authenticity!
I preordered two batches. I've had 2 emails telling me they. Have arrived and I can ring in with payment details or wait until my preorder slot is reached for a further reminder. I think they are slowly working their way through. A long list as they need payment details for every order. My 8 are now Enroute :-)
A couple more pics from Kirkmellington showing the managers cottage and its garden. I've been playing with filters and the garden shot reminds me of the colour tone of my old film camera & Boots prints.
I think Hattons changed their stance when Bachmann withdrew their expected price so preorders before that are honoured but those after were subject to the well let you know clause.
Excellent . Just need scale bogie Grainflow \ Cerestar hoppers (not the shorty Polybulks) and Tullis Russell PGA hoppers and I can recreate my first exhibition layout and Speedlink trains in the Scottish Lowlands
There have been many versions \ batches of the Deltic but often with variations and certainly with no discounted prices.
You pay your money and make your choice. £179 will either be acceptable to you or not. I'm sure Locomotion are confident, based on their sales history of models such as the Deltic, that they will sell through and make their money.
If the 'uman rites lot protest about body scanners at airports then accurate model figures are a long way off thankfully. Would you really want a pack of pot bellied, greasy haired rucksack swinging great unwashed cluttering up your layout? 20 yr old Swedish au pairs don't do train spotting do they?
(yes I know aim a train spotter too and so qualify for some aspect of the stereotype)
I've found this one of the more fun threads, totally irrelevant to the OP, but fun and quite gripping.
The answer is out there somewhere it's just trying to work out who is a MR subscriber and therefore what hints they have left. A great puzzle for the sleuths to solve.
Dave, a very interesting announcement. Not being overly familiar with the specifics or Kickstarter beyond what it is, what are the benefits that we would get for investing, eg
Do we get a share of future profit from this model?
Do we get a discount on future versions of the model we may buy over and above the first batch?
Do we simply get the model(s) to which we sign up at the advance order price at the start and that's it?
A good initiative that deserves decent support.
Cheers
It was great to see the layout again at Perth, its one of my favourites and never disappoints in bringing back childhood memories of trips to Scotland.
I have uploaded a video from the show
I was very impressed with the layout at Railex, it was very entertaining and kept me enthralled for quite some time. I made a short video on the Sunday
One from Railex this past weekend:
Gweek North Quay by Falmouth & district MRC
What I love about this and some of the other layouts at the show is the fact you cannot easily tell from the photos what scale the model is. Beautiful scenery is an art.
New metalair tanks at Liverpudlian retailer at near £15 each, hopefully a more realistic price to allow your wagon to see the light of day?
What kind of target price are you needing? £15 to £20 might be considered reasonable in the current climate.
Paul Barletts photo site has lots of mineral wagons converted for such use, I've only really searched the 16T threads but many of those were fitted with cradles so no doubt he will have similar photos of the ex-27T tipplers
