  1. Congratulations to all for not taking advantage of Gordon's screws and keeping it clean.
  2. Sorry to hear about the screws, Gordon. I have toe nails myself.
  3. Good job I don't come on here to be cheered up! Sorry to hear of various ailments - best of luck for speedy recoveries. However, I detest Winter (mostly) and can't get away from it at the moment due to commitments. Just the absence of light during the day is enough to give me the megrims.
  4. That's not a quick job, Gordon. They employ contractors to cut the trees back on an area schedule. Then it has to be repaired.
  5. "Mine are left untreated and are fine for storing my issues" Why would you want to store your tissues?
  6. They should also have been concerned about Denbighshire! Passed over for now but some close run things.
  7. They like to get things buttoned up.
  8. "It makes a change to have a sensible discushion." Certainly, when one springs to mind.
  9. It's good to see remarks couched in comic terms. (Terms: 0% Interest, Free the first year, 4 years to pay).
  10. Calm between the storms here. Yes - Benfleet caught it today. More on Monday they say. Meanwhile ... I'm offered sofas every 15 minutes on TV. Have we developed into a particularly destructive race when it comes to sofas? There must now be more sofas that people in the UK. (or perhaps they don't last very long).
  11. Are we all going to get Beckham haircuts?
  12. All water still outside this morning. Rain has eased and stream level has dropped. More carrying of sandbags this morning - we can't get out at the back otherwise. I am very pleased to hear that Test Match cricket may be restored to my TV. I refuse to pay extra on top of the License.
  13. Sandbags out again here, BoD. They offered to bring them to the village on Monday initially! The stream at the bottom of the garden is within 6" of the top. I'll know if the worst has happened if I step out of bed into a pool of water in the morning.
  14. "Swimming in rain is FUN. It's warmer in the water than out. Also playing soccer in rain wearing only a bathing costume! Sitting in a tent in rain is NOT fun." Some very strange ideas there, Don. Taking your pleasures sadly.
  15. How do the MOD earn bonuses? Start more wars?
  16. Mick: Don't be too shy in court. If you don't speak up, it's too late afterwards. Good luck.
  17. By gum there are some strange topics this morning.
  18. Not Scouts, but I remember school camps where we all wore 'sheath knives' with blades at least 5" long. Mine was a sort of Bowie knife I recall. We'd all be arrested today.
  19. Do Scouts still wear the little ribbon around the top of their socks? When I were a very young lad, we had them as House colours at school. Of course, as the socks crumpled around our ankles, the ribbon added a little something. Especially mine - it was magenta.
  20. Do Scouts still wear Woggles? Are they collectable?
  21. "son cleaning out his snake" One wonderss how thiss might be accomplished. Hiss drain rod perhapss?
  22. I don't watch much TV but I've just seen Peter Kay (twice) and I'm still smiling.
