  1. With the new TPE livery out and about I guess this could renew interest in the 350 from Bachmann - are there many differences between the 350/1 or 2 and 4? I've only just got a hold of one and I can honestly say it's one of the best purchases I've made - if you haven't got one yet but are still thinking about it - do it, you won't have regrets! Especially at Hattons current prices!
  2. Perhaps a way to gain interest in the market would be to have an AC starter set with a pack or two of appropriate Dapol catenary (if it actually gets released) included?
  3. I think it is difficult to say whether the 85 has been a 'failure' or not, but the fact that even discounted they are still around £80 (compared to the dramatic drop in prices for HJ86) suggests there is still reasonable expectation among retailers to sell at this price. So long as the models sell eventually, it can be said to have been a success. Either way I don't think Bachmann are done with ACs yet - and as I said in the wishlist thread, I have a feeling that we will see an 87 from them shortly.
  4. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Hornby-VIRGIN-CO-CO-DIESEL-ELECTRIC-CLASS-47-LOCO-THE-LION-VIENNA-R2289A-/171233119560 From the £100 pound a model Lima seller - he does seem to shift some outrageously priced models. Why you would pay that much, who knows.
  5. This is very optimistic, even for the FGW HST http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OO-Hornby-mint-boxed-1st-Great-Western-DCC-fitted-R2812X-class-43-HST-4-coaches-/251454642024?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item3a8bdd5768
  6. Unfortunate spelling of 'wrapped' in this listing... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-Train-Set-Virgin-Trains-Pendolino-with-4-Exstra-Cars-/121249027080?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item1c3b015408
  7. Just a quicky, Has anybody used these motors? They seem like a cheap alternative to Modeltorque, are they compatible with most Lima locos? If they are good, they seem like an absolute bargain http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Susumotor-Lima-motor-replacement-motor-for-the-Pancake-motor-/261312226670?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item3cd76c256e
  8. Not really madness but what is this? I've never seen it before. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OO-Gauge-Hornby-Limited-Edition-Connectivity-BR-Class-90-Electric-Locomotive-/171068321665?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item27d4776f81
  9. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271087860958?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619 Not madness yet, but this auction is going to go (rightfully) for a lot, I wouldn't even know where to start valuing it!
  10. I think this auction will rocket http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-FGW-Mk3-Coaches-for-HST-Weathered-and-Boxed-/230849491919?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item35bfb3b3cf&_uhb=1#ht_500wt_1288
  11. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-OO-CLASS-90-012-BRITISH-TRANSPORT-POLICE-LOCO-/200815937285?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item2ec1900705&_uhb=1#ht_5348wt_1271 'Loco is unpowered' - How much?
  12. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OO-Gauge-Hornby-DCC-Sound-Fitted-BR-Class-50-Loco-50037-Illustrious-/170885615532?pt=AU_Toys_Hobbies_Model_Railways&hash=item27c9938fac&_uhb=1#ht_1286wt_1037 What?
  13. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/East-Coast-Trains-One-off-Vitrains-class-37-repaint-and-rake-of-6-New-Coaches-/170903297199?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item27caa15caf&_uhb=1#ht_1091wt_1271 I thought this one was a bit strange.
  14. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-FGW-FIRST-GREAT-WESTERN-COMPLETE-8-COACH-MK3-HST-SET-DCC-READY-CLASS-43-/150822333256?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item231db62b48#ht_659wt_1270 That price in only 20 hours - it's going to make eyes water at the end.
  15. Well someone paid £72 for the same coach last week so it's not a totally unfounded price. As for the £850 - I really hope no-one is that naive to pay that much - you could have a normal 56 renumbered, repainted, fitted with sound and detailed all professionally for considerably less than £425.
  16. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bachmann-31-514-Class-159-3-car-DMU-South-West-Trains-livery-SWT-158-170-/220996348599?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item337468aab7#ht_500wt_1287 How much? I'm sorry but for what is, essentially, a repaint of a 158, it's a bit steep, particularly when you could pick up a 3 car transpennine for roughly 50 and have it professionally modded for significantly less than that.
  17. I note in the RailExpress modeller section that the price these expected to retail at is £89.99, which I think is reasonable with the specs mentioned. Are these likely to be available in all major model stores or just DC Kits suppliers?

    Peco OHLE

Or glue pantographs in an up position, not so much of an issue with Heljan 86s as the foam boxes can be altered to fit the new structure.

    Peco OHLE

If you recall, Peco a while ago announced plans to produce OO gauge OHL equipment, has there been many developments on this front as it seems to have been fairly quiet since its announcement. Simple OHL is about all I can cope with at the moment!
  20. Hopefully a fair few liveries for the 47!
  21. Another question on your 47s im afraid. Which do you prefer as a brand? I must say you've done extremely well to make that Vitrains 47 look the way it does, goes to show the difference a bit of weathering can have on the models appearance!
