  1. That's looking awesome Pete. Did you use #5 Kadees on this to get the close coupling? Only reason I ask is I have a few Airfix coaches and was going to go down the Keen Systems route for these. Most likely I'll leave the TSO untouched though as those are rare, and replace it with a more modern Hornby one. If successful I'll buy a couple more, plus a short rake of the Bachmanns when they appear.
  2. I just picked up one of them there new fangled Hornby Railroad coaches. The idea behind it is to see what they are like in the flesh (heh) and I am pleased to report they are a great match for the Hachette mk1s, in this case providing a Brake coach for my "Experimental" rake. Pictures to follow.
  3. I know it's not exhibition related, however, you could get on the Ffestiniog with a load of "Sunny Wales" brochures in the pouring rain. You have to wait for the windows to be suitably misted up though.
  4. This is a fantastic model so far. One thing though, why not make a silicon mould of the more 'difficult' sections so you have for instance an easy dome section if you make any more? I can't wait to see the finished article.
  5. Ah ok. I know Billinton was less than impressed when someone suggested he modify his engines to allow clearance for the edges of station canopies. I think he said something like "Why should I modify my designs for the frill around a lady's petticoat?"
  6. Wasn't umber Col. Billinton's choice?
  7. Cool. That's where they were on about putting us up (we're also Go-Ahead). I didn't manage to get through to the office today so I might try next week. I don't think we're supplying any buses though because we don't really have any to spare. I did manage to get some Brighton - Three Bridges rail work for March 2nd though.
  8. Ok thanks. Looks like I'll have to wait for the Deltic.
  9. There were posters up asking for volunteers in our garage to go down there and drive the replacement buses. Rumour has it, however that Stagecoach have undercut us so I'll ask for details tomorrow. Shame, as i've never been to Devon and I'd like to see it for myself.
  10. One question. If they can be fettled, can they be motorised?
  11. You could try using that as flux... (sorry couldn't resist it) Seriously though hope it wasn't too serious.
  12. Ah ok thanks for the clarification. I still find it ironic that the first loco to East Grinstead was a diesel though.
  13. IIRC it's point 23 at the.south end of Horsted Keynes station. As this is one of the main ones it's pretty vital. Someone told me the point is on site but needs assembling. Rather like a massive kit. Imagine the size of the bag for that one lol.
  14. Hi Neal! I was talking to your other half about it the other day at work.
  15. Hi Alan, I've been here for a while coming over from the old RMWeb site. And thanks for the compliment on the name. It's due to the fact that I'm a bus driver who has a particlularly evil sense of humour lol Great modelling btw, Can't wait for those other cathedrals!
  16. Edited by Andy Y, Today, 08:17 . Objection to blasphemous phrase by 3rd party. I understand the context though. Was the phrase "prototypical GWR time table" by any chance?
  17. That's some seriously good ballasting Gordon. I though mine was good but compared to that...wow! I think i'll give it a try with some spare SMP track at some point.
  18. Speaking of brickwork, does anyone remember who made those little plastic bricks that have 8 holes in that you thread down locating sticks? Looks infuriating but effective, especially for white glazed bricks in boilerhouses and similar places.
  19. Great choice. I do find these Colonel Stephens lines really fascinating. I almost ended up building this station years ago but lack of money and space put that on ice.
