  1. Aye it was a braw bricht moonlit nicht for sure Rich...those intrepid photters didn't even need flash... Hee hee Phil
  2. 46s and 31s..the latter hardly an adequate replacement for 43s..? Phil
  3. 861 finished at Worcester then ran light engine Oeo to Bristol... Will look up more details at home tonight Cheers Phil
  4. Next video is here... https://youtu.be/LnbTeq9kdtQ But its now 10.50, just started loading and it probably wont finish until after midnight...and sorry, it took all night to load. This video is based on the wtt - the mix of trains is interesting. Changing trains all the time is very time consuming, that 12 minutes is the result of about 3 hours activity! Enjoy Phil
  5. Swmbo and I stood - a few years ago - in the car park by that rather nice bridge at Eckington. A swanky cruiser approached the bridge - the river was up a bit - and the chap steering realised it was going to be tight He had a few gentle tries to get the correct line and then backed off up the river - before taking a run at it! You can guess the result.....CRUNCH! Dread to think what the cost of the damage was, particularly if it was a hire boat he was trying to get back to Tewkesbury. Oh - The Bell at Eckington does an excellent lunch too Phil
  6. Hmmm - how long before we start seeing Spanish Practices in our modelling circles? Phil
  7. Hurrah! Nice to know Bachmann have been listening.... Time to do D326 from this batch then She was notorious not only for Great Train Robbery but also for running away at Winston Green - but here she has escaped to Bristol https://www.flickr.com/photos/68861278@N03/16003337241/in/photolist-qoahBB-8LDCsL-oeBuPm-MDtoL-7rh6u1-hZs8gN-d9UbCe-63xxUz-42QD31-5CCEZg-iPcYYq-pwXTtz-6uVjL4-37x3e3-4viLTu-56YG8t-cZm8hu-9vS8u7-9uwJpM-6HpeFX-8ah3sd-N4PSK-bziR8k-349aRy-74pkxh-qEGYE9-7msnew-6q7aZM-f4eJqd-f4eJwq-6dYEiw-2pvNuT-8U6x3H-rum5KX-7z38Xj-6fnny8-4kGLzQ-4YfCpv-AWiNvq-8CLtZJ-nSzbpL-q8G5cr-3pVLvf-eQwsn-3B4cRk-6v4rD3-bmMmTm-e1vVAG-ijyUTF-BoT4pm Thanks to Glawster Old Spot for that super shot Phil
  8. And the empties at Norton Junction behind 47051 - boo hiss!!! Hang on - that's a loco with a Stones boiler, been looking for a decent picture of that arrangement . Phil
  9. Was the use of vans random Brian? Remember seeing trains with them - but also without! Cheers Phil
  10. Like Neil we make do with the inaccurate Bachmann offering - 9ft wheelbase and roller bearings but at least they have the w iron bracing tie unlike some other wagons from that stable. Looking at Paul's site the 9ft hoods were mostly oil boxes. Its flat tarps for the clayliner isn't it? We have used wide masking tape for the tarps painted grey - not quite 50 shades but looks effective, and folded up in the bottom of the returning empties. Also comes far enough down side of wagon to obscure most branding.... We have changed the coupling on the lead wagon for one with a NEM pocket - the flexibility reduces derailments - and fitted the obligatory tail lamp vac pipe and instanter on the tail vehicle Usually gets appreciative nods at shows.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYg23Rj-Pl4 And for gratuitous porn I cant help but put the link to Mike King's photo up again... http://www.miac.org.uk/images/1048.jpg Phil
  11. Anyone else going to the Western Weekend this weekend? Looks like its the Saturday evening Nagex for us ... 7.45 off Kidder with D1015 Phil
  12. OK time to fess up! I blame Mr Phil Dyson with all his talk of Bluetooth speakers... Sound was recorded as part of the video clip...but was playing through a speaker under the layout not a sound chip in the loco HAs anyone put sound in one of these ? Sorry.... Phil
  13. Oh what on earth would make you think such a thing!!!!! :-) Mr SM even thinks I faked making it stay on the track..... Phil
  14. Yes I remember that too. Were the Replica FO and BCK the logical developments? Whilst the RB is an excellent survivor suspect a significant proportion of the Warships and Jubilees from that era have met their end... Phil
  15. So going back to the Mainline RB Its a product of the Merl Evans Era - along with the Mainline Jubilee and Warship, real game changers back in the 70s For those who may have missed it - http://Bachmann.co.uk/ - sad news Phil
  16. Y Bacardí y Coke es la bebida de un hombre? Sr. EW patines sobre hielo delgado .....Hee hee Phil
  17. Smashing to see her back - going back to the dark days of severe motive power shortage pre water softening days truly a heroic engine.... Phil
  18. Ah you mean the Mainline RB!!!! Cheers Mike....yes has acquired Keen Couplings, and been rebranded and weathered. Just debating whether or not to worry about flush glazing - doesn't look out of place as it is. Te debo una cerveza - o varios! Cheers Phil
  19. Perils of running outside I guess! Pesky flying ants.... But the layout is starting to show its age - just look at the trackwork! Phil
  20. Ah sorry Andi still trying to push it down Churchdown's wonderful broadband system - about 25 mins to go Youtube tells me.... Phil Edit - good to go now!
  21. Just finished editing first video - there's enough material for at least another two more - should finish loading in half an hour This was the end of the day with smashing lighting - there was a wild life invasion though! We had given up on the timetable by then. https://youtu.be/2sdC0sR7xCM No captions on this one hee hee so those with spotting books can hone their skills Will swap it for one with captions after a few days Enjoy! Phil
  22. The foam gets my vote too...originally laid road on Abbotswood with wet and dry, but ripped it up....this is much better Phil
