Ah - knew you would have it sussed!

Coming along nicely Neil!
Cant see on your photo - had you twigged she has different pattern cab handrails at either end?
Phil
-
Just needs some passing traffic to polish those rail tops....
Superb job fella....

I think that was usual, if not universal.
Agreed - an extension to turn the lamp mounting through 90 degrees, presumably so a standard BR lamp could be mounted on a WR pattern lamp iron which were originally at right angles to everybody elses....
Of course Swindon knew best....

What good is an Opel motor car?
Mike.
Or is it a ray of hope?

Looking great there Alex

Ah yes the extension
Spent £1600 on the car in the last 3 months hence progress financially stymied....Front brake pads and discs - service - MOT - gearbox linkage cables - clutch - clutch fork - starter motor....Its nearly a new car! Next month hopefully...
Although Norton Junction bridge is built, Stubby of this parish is doing the signal box for us, and the C&W dept has expanded the roster to seven rakes of coaches so sufficient there to populate phase 2, 3 warships done and another 4 currently in works so chipping away at the work....

A Youtube landmark yesterday - total views reached 400,000! Link on signature below. There are a couple of aircraft videos in there too....
Its interesting to look at the way things split
The "When Model Railways Go Wrong" clip still accounts for over 75% of the views - and mostly from the other side of the Atlantic
The other 25% mainly consists of our attempts at representing prototypical UK operations and largely comes from this side of the pond. Many folks on here have posted kind comments - many thanks for your support folks, more to come this year...
Cheers

C1528/9 fascinated by that location, couldn't place it ...
I reckon you were at 52°18'46.24"N 2°12'20.44"W - on the south westerly of the two bridges looking north east, Sneads Green nearest village, that's Hartlebury's down distant in front of the other bridge
An area not often seen in photos - many thanks for sharing, remember batting along there at a fair lick in Swindon 120s on Worcester to Brum trains in the late 60s/early 70s

Bill
Re the distants - the starter with the fixed distant will have a speed restriction on that route - I suspect probably a cross over on to the line that the 47 is departing on - which has a straight run, hence the distant pulled off.
And yup that's a BFK all right - another one for Mr Bachmann please!

Hartlebury and Blockley? You are spoiling us Dave!
Blockley hadn't been long singled of course - but the wrong is now righted, other line now reinstated

Have a test oval for my 4mm locos - excellent for a quick run on the kitchen or bedroom floor, some views in my videos below, follow youtube link
SWMBO also has an extensive collection for her N gauge layout - love the built in point motors, only down side is limited points available
Highly recommended

Yup we've used them too...
Usually have to chop them off at the waist to get them to fit in a diesel cab though

Hee hee That's the second man....or has he just nipped over from the other side of the cab?

Did anyone clock the loco on this working on Sunday please?

Was on the bridge in Churchdown, heard her leave Gloucester, just awesome!

In the days when you bought an album for the cover artwork as much as the music!

Hi, Dave. A really lovely selection of photo's of the West Highland line today. I like the one of Crianlarich particularly so.
With warmest regards,
Rob.
Absolutely! Cracking scissors crossover....

Can only echo what other posters have said Dave
Your mum is far more important than these images - wonderful though they are!
Cramlington is said to be an excellent unit - am sure she will get the best possible care - don't forget to look after yourself too though!

Santa bombed on this one so had to go into CMC today and do the deed
Only had time to scan so far but can only echo comments above - stonking read!

Three additions to my Whisky shelf in my home pub this Xmas, after a few gentlemen helped me with their settling in on Xmas eve and the last couple of days. The Glenlivet is sublime, smooth as you can ever get with a malt, and I've (ahem) sampled a few now.
Unfortunately now down considerably on my malt collection, New Years resolution to buy some more.
Great idea for a thread Phil, I think we had some Aberlour together in Plymouth.
Neil
We certainly did Neil!
Think you had better come and help me with the contents of the Churchdown whisky cupboard in the New Year....

Merry Christmas Dave
C771 is Bromsgrove looking up the bank towards Vigo and Blackwell. Last time I saw that view I was in notch 8 with a ballast job hoping to get to the top at 20mph!
Not with a Wizzo then Nidge?
Seasons greetings!

Great idea for a thread (and at least two distillery layouts on RMWeb too).
Whiskies are so varied. I like Auchentoshan but also GlenMorangie and Highland Park are among my favourites.
Hoping to get a trip to a friend's holiday cottage on Islay soon (Barnacle Cottage - see the website, it's beautiful) which is right next to a distillery.
Yes it is a good fit with modelling given the railway links!
Am partial to Islays too but SWMBO says they smell like TCP

Which one?
Is it the "cheapy" from tesco?
I should take a photo of all the whiskies I have tried, people at work know I like whisky, so has its advantages
Hadnt seen it in Tesco's. Got my bottle in a whisky shop in Edinburgh - hunted around the shop for it but nowhere to be seen ... on asking the staff they had stocks hidden behind the till....

Great stuff!
Explosives traffic was for Penrhyndeudraeth (had to check the spelling of that!) IIRC
