Order now says green one is shipped!
Very appropriate! Abbotswood is up for filming this weekend - would be great if this arrives tomorrow......

Ps checked my on line order this morning green one showing as dispatched! Have some sneaked in on a stealth mission?

Certainly is but saving grace here is that swmbo is just as bad with deliveries of quilting fabric. I reckon it's better to have on big parcel too that a continuous dribble of smaller ones...!

Looks good, but a pity you got the green one as I'm more interested in how the red compares to previous Class 42s and Dapols 52s. If I don't like the shade of red I'll probably go for the BR blue one. At the new price I can only justify one at present. Lucky you Phil!
I did place my order a long time ago. The price I have to pay will influence how rapidly the fleet grows no doubt!

Yippee - 6 on order, how can I get the other 27 in to the house without SWMBO spotting them?

Sorry to throw a spanner in the works chaps!
The centre headcode batch 6960 - 6968 were 30A locos certainly in the late 60s and there were other centre boxers in the low end of the D68xx series - including D6830 the subject of the Hornby model from the 60s.
Brush veteran has one of his usual super pics of a pair at Liverpool Street

The D6960 - D6968 batch can be identified by this time as they all appear to have an additional lamp bracket positioned centrally above the headcode box and IIRC were the first in the class to be air braked.

see "Muphry's Law" e.g. here
S*d the spelling!!! Can you please send that wonderful shot of a class 120 to the Blue Box Brigade please Dave.

And of course the Class 46 Peaks had Brush electrical gear....

If it was that good, why weren't any more built?
Single engine Brush Type 4 offered performance that wasn't that far removed - although that was theoretical once Sulzer engines had to be de-rated.
High speed Maybachs not liked by engineering fraternity away from WR either

Often saw her at Bristol in her heyday.
But at Hereford - wow! She also towed a 25 to Derby for repair one day.
Greyhound - yes - but one heck of a tractive effort too, restarted some trains of ludicrous weights when on test on the Lickey.

We did see a very poor 126 slide of a Class 22 at New Street once in someone's collection, very distant and very under exposed, but most certainly a Class 22 and at New Street c1970.
Kevin
D6327 on a DMU drag from Oxford IIRC
Hang the quality Kevin! If you have that shot it has to be published .... pretty please!
D6336 also made it to Worcester from Oxford following 2 other loco failures on a Padd - Worcester working

Hoovers and pinnies.
Real mens talk now.
Mine gave up the ghost about 3 months ago and no new motors available now Even the local household appliance scrapyard shop (Yes Durham has one of them) proprietor was surprised at how old it was. 35 years!
Whilst doing an interwebby search I even found my now expired vacuum cleaner has a web site dedicated to it.
After seeing the performance of Rick/Izzys top of the range Dyson (My ex's asthmatic budgerigar had more suck!) I went down the Hoover route.
P
Can beat that - mine is 60 years old! Dysons should be sold with several pairs of ear plugs.
Off to CMC tomorrow for grain hoppers yippee...

Worcester?
Mike.
Spot on Mike

I reckon 14 is D9506
That makes the date 1968 - probably between March and June, presence of tail lamp on D6316 may indicate this is arrival date at beginning of that period perhaps?
Cheers

If you recognise the location you will understand why I got excited!

The four corner squares will be 'single decker bus on bridge', 'double decker bus on bridge', 'coach on bridge' and 'charabanc on bridge'.
Reckon now this one is out
http://Bachmann.co.uk/details.php?id=360
you will need a few more squares!

Another fresh clear day today for a walk in the country. This is Stockton-on-Teme, Worcestershire.
GPS: SO 70708 67471
Looking across the Teme valley to Stanford.
GPS: SO 71135 67114
Martin.
Teme Valley is beautiful Martin! The view up the valley as you take the Abberley to Tenbury road and drop down in the valley has little to challenge it IMHO
Kind regards

More fantastic eye candy Dave

Hi Mike
Yes I don't like the use of the extended door glazing as fixing clips either!

Now for someone with a mild red/green colourblindness - I blame my mother - ALL the liveries work for me - except perhaps BSYP
