Thanks James, they have taken me ages!
Alclad laquer is great, really recommend it, though varnishing after application is essential as it won't stand masking tape - as I found out!

Thanks guys!

Looks fab as ever Dominic. I managed to finish mine last night. Just out of interest, how did you manage to keep the roof grill intact? I stripped mine completely. Which base model have you used and how have you got rid of the details so they don't show up once the loco is resprayed?
Cheers,
Andi.
Andi,
I was contacted on Monday from one of the gang who operate Widnes Vine Yard and asked if I could have this ready for Thurs (big ask!), had huge problems sourcing a new Hornby donor, so got a mint condition 2nd hand Lima one.
I didn't want to lose the roof grill and decided to keep the warning panel yellow to save time, so masked these off. I rubbed down all the lettering/logos and numbersets with some wet and dry to get a smooth finish, then primed with the usual Halfords grey - result as good as a dip in the Supastrip.
John's decal were excellent, however I think for the 2nd one I'm doing I'd spray the silver strip with Aeromaster's silver, as I think you've done.

The camera comes as part of the NMT kit from Hurst Models, though you don't have to buy the coach overlays, the camera parts are avail separately.
The transfers were from Hurst too - they are excellent quality.

Yes, GWR railcars were called Flying Bananas, remember now. Perhaps the fact that to me it means an NMT gives away my lack of seniority!

Isn't it? What is then?!

Pugsley,
Not 100% sure how John does them, pretty sure they are ALPS.

Lovely Grids!
Excellent work on the Yellow Banana, wouldn't mind one of those myself. Hopefully Hornby will do one at some point.
Grimley, that's praise indeed coming from Mr Grid - thanks!
I heard from a dickie bird that Hornby/Model Rail are planning a Network Rail HST pair.....not sure the quality of that rumour though.

Grahame, where are the skips from?

Thanks Danny. Funny thing is that I don't usually use Railmatch paints, but they brought out the 2 DBS colours and so I gave them a try, they gave an excellent finish.
John's (Precision Labels) decals were spot on, as always.

Thanks James, it's taken me a few weeks to work out how it all works!

Very high quality stock and layout - love the "Banksy" under the bridge!
