  1. Ah sorry. Not my thing, just happened to notice the title of the listing.
  2. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DJB-ENGINEERING-7-MM-LNWR-STEAM-RAILMOTOR-DIAM-7-ETCHED-BRASS-KIT-MOTOR/154251324831?_trkparms=aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131231084308%26meid%3D883b436d13e04fb09b6417c7ef4c101b%26pid%3D100010%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D154252461780%26itm%3D154251324831%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DDefaultOrganicWithAblationExplorer&_trksid=p2047675.c100010.m2109 You could try asking if you could get a copy of these. Need to be quick though as it ends today.
  3. Dirty green is hard to do well I think. Even some of the top pro's ones look less convincing to me than their black or slightly cleaner green examples. I usually end up going for that oily rag look by lightly polishing the paint - rather like the effect you get by accident when you remove a printed logo!
  4. I bought a 16T mineral wagon off them the other day which arrived with the wheels on one axle free to slide along it. Totally useless like that. They offered a full refund but couldn't replace it.
  5. Let us know how you get on. I tried to get some Mogul spares before xmas and they told me they aren't selling parts until they have got them all listed and then you will be able to order online.
  6. Hadn't realised Iron Maiden's little ditty was an ode to a loco.
  7. Very nice. Just out of interest, what was the connection between loco and tender like? Heljan have done the pipes correctly on their 7mm version
  8. I rather like that! Must fish out my Argo transacord records.
  9. I'm leaving mine on the left but its an interesting one - I'd never noticed that some are on the right before it was pointed out today. City of Truro seems to have the vacuum on the right and steam heat on the left and 4270 tank has both vacuum and steam pipe on the right. Incidentally things get interesting at the front as well. The vacuum pipe usually runs below the front pony axle and then very obviously runs vertically straight up from way below the buffer beam. https://www.warwickshirerailways.com/gwr/gwrw382.htm edit: pic chosen totally at random but have found an interesting formation!
  10. If you want to fit it all in the fiddle yard that's over 5 foot of your 14 not scenic. If you don't have one, I would beg borrow or steal a coach - much easier to visualise when you see one.
  11. I put "gwr tender" in Google and loads came up. Also some tank locos as well. See also here: http://www.gwr.org.uk/no-tenders.html Seems less common later on - particularly BR and preserved (which I know is not reliable). Were they generally refitted later or even did this approach switch from new at some point?
  12. Right from day 1, the media reporting of every set of measures has prominently featured "how to get round them" coverage and "will the police be able to stop me" articles. Whilst admittedly I have no time for the media, at the end of the day they publish what (they think) we want to read, which suggests our attitude is a problem. The same inability to see past individual short-term gains affects our voting and thus government thinking, so we get policies with no thought for the long term. Everything that is public funded has been eroded for years because they cant touch taxes - we just want to hear we will get more for less. (See also brexit). I wouldnt want to be 20 again now frankly. It's a mess. Ps. feel free to disagree. I hope i'm wrong and would actually cheer me up!
  13. I got the shears out this morning in the finest traditions of bored man gardening. I started with an extensive rose and ended with little more than a stump.
  14. Funnily enough, I put up my spring loaded feeder today and, for now, it has seen them off. Had to put up with 20 of them in the tree discussing it all morning but by this afternoon just a coal tit and a pair of great tits, neither of which have had a look in for months
  15. I wonder if Chinese railway forums are all pointing the finger at the uk for making it all worse again? Of course its possible their labs havent developed a blame culture as good as ours yet.
  16. If you sit and wait theres always a chance they will re run them (or upgrade) and the value bombs I would do some research, see what the going rate is and list them buy it now using one of the regular sell for £1 offers. Timing is less relevant if you have derisked it that way. Some people swear blind sunday is the best time to sell. Conversely nearly all of my bargain buys have been then so I dont agree personally.
  17. This has been discussed at length in the mogul thread. The wheelbase of the tender is longer than the loco
  18. I think I owe you an apology! I totally agree - this was an odd way to avoid confusion.

  20. I want to get the door off. If I took the body off I'd simply push the door out from behind. I'm asking if it's easy to lever the door off without access from behind.
  21. Hmmm. I think it's time the moderators stepped in...
  22. I'm not surprised. Insurance isnt cheap!
  23. Thought provoking piece i read on here somewhere that most people don't concentrate for more than the 5 seconds it takes to partially digest the headlines. They certainly wouldn't listen to the politicians speaking so will have taken in "meet 3 families for christmas" and if that suits them wont give it any further thought. Listened to my neighbour bellow down the phone a friend to clarify the rules and the gist of it seemed to be "i don't understand any of it but tracey from 37 did XYZ last week and she said she was fine so i think thats ok". And shes the brighter of the two - the other one religiously wears a hat to stop it getting in her ears.
