my apologies Mr Tan. I'm not in here as much as I used to be so must have missed that. Perhaps you could send out a pigeon with a newsletter?

      ian

No, he's too busy poisoning pigeons in the park...

  2. mend a picture, build a jig. Mend a picture, build a jig. Mend a picture, build a jig. A day of website mangling and track panels methinks.

  3. hmmm, a full time job would get me out from under my better half's feet...... where's the flipping job application form on the papal website?

    1. Horsetan

      Horsetan

I think God would have decided on your application in mysterious ways....

HT - I think he already has. I think my karma quota may be a bit out of balance at the moment.

BM - I'm sure once I"ve finished Stooperdale to Belah I can find a spare room for you to store Kirkby Stephen if you need. Now everyone get praying 'cos I need a proper job and a proper sized railway room (err suite)

  4. 3 fishplates returned from the bossom of the carpet and promptly glued to the rail with the rest. The day can't all be bad.

  5. I must apply myself to applying.

      Metr0Land

Have you downloaded an application form from the interweb?

  6. ooh my ultrascale wheels have arrived. I might not have ordered them if I'd known 4 months ago that I would now be self-employed, but they are possibly even more sexier than the "50 shades of Brown" that was track prep earlier. Is it wrong to think nomnomnom about wheelsets?

    1. Jon020

      Jon020

:-) not if they're ultrascales. As has been said before, they are as value holding as Gold should you ever wish to sell them on!

      Horsetan

I must get round to waiting six months for 6 driving wheels for the Princess.....

  7. making painting track sexy - read "50 shades of brown"

Would any place where this kind of modelling takes place have to be called a sh*g?

  8. its review time. Far too many unfinished things around here and not enough space.

  10. warning: sound from the process of re-spacing peco flexi track into NER 30'x11 sleeper panels may cause domestic friction. I can't vouch for other patterns though

certainly not, can't back down now... ultrascale have taken my dosh, but a quick photo diorama and experiment board was called for and if its good enough for some esteemed members of the national media then who am i to argue!

  11. /me wonders if there are jobs available for designing application forms laid out coherently in plain english

  12. D'oh!!! Twenty-four hours of prime heated drying time and only now have I found that PVA does not work with Knauf and exterior display foamboard

Amendment..... evostick has been replaced by double sided carpet tape. One 625x500x60mm diorama board made. Weight (complete with underlay): 691g.

  13. diorama planning a-go-go

  14. neither me nor the person I am not are with me and none of us are surprised at all about how easy picture restoration from dodgy sixties transparencies is

  15. So tell the whole world I'm not me and he's not with me too.

  16. ccl, cc, cc, cc, ccr, s1, s1, s1, s1 (reversed)

though you were pessimistic on this stage of the problem solving, you were optimistic though on the overall timescale of the problem. No mail into the desktop since 16/01. Phone no problem. Even new mail client on desktop does not solve prob. :( At this rate I'll have to contemplate trackbuilding.

oooh goody 295 spams. That'll teach me to disaster test the antivirus until it let mail through.

  19. so how many of you are enjoying a day off today, and of those of oyu how many will be enjoying a little extra modelling time? Spare a thought for those of us who work from home.

  21. hmmm, today has been erased according to the status update thingummy. Anyway, snow? Well we nutted it and went to Stainmore summit, took a skeg at Bleathgill and Belah, paused for a breather at Kirkby Stephen West, rolled on through Sedbergh to Garsdale and then back over Stainmore. My hat goes off to the gangers and linemen who went before and served all year round and in all weathers.
