  1. I am in Australia and mine arrived today. A day early. Had a brief look and will check it out later today. Brilliant looking model. My thanks go to the NRM/Locomotion and Rapido for producing a model of the GNR Stirling Single. Photo below is of preserved Single at Shildon in May 2011. Chimney is in the foreground. Mark in Oz
  2. Ditto. Master Modeller. Will be missed. R.I.P Allan and condolences to family. Mark in Oz
  3. Tony is now the director and producer rather than the star in front of the camera. I have a few of those DVDs on building Locos. Move over Clint Eastwood and Ron Howard. Looking forward to seeing what you produce Tony and keep the camera rolling. Enjoying the photos of LNER stock too. Mark in Oz
  4. Mine arrived in Australia this morning. It was put behind A4 Great Snipe and some 8 Gresley teak coach. The coach set included a Comet Restaurant Triplet Set. Will have to get on with the Coronation set. Looking at photos people have downloaded I was concerned that the teak effect was too light. Having seen the real thing at York and taken a few photos, I think it is a very good match. Anyway I am happy. Mark in Oz
  5. Trailing wheel on loco? Odd brown bit/cover. Looks great. Look forward to receiving mine in a week or two. Mark in Oz
  6. Hi David, Have you seen Tama the Station cat. Another Japanese obsession. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tama_(cat) Google Tama the station cat and links will come up. Mark

Well done Chaz, Inspirational layout. I am thinking I might expand my little O gauge layout from 8' to 12' (x1 1/2'- 450mm wide) Mark in Oz
  8. 83 Containers fell off a ship off the Australian East coast just north of Sydney. Hopefully they are heading south. I would get one before those in the UK, but for the fact they fell overboard and were wrecked along the coast. Not long to wait now. I have fully paid up. Mark in Oz
  9. Hi Tony, I have been considering a "Wright bodge" using a Hornby 1st Sleeper (red and cream) to convert it to a Composite to add to my set. Both Comet and MJT produce the same Composite sides Diagram D6/D130. My question is which is the best? In my discussions with a well known builder of coaches, he has suggested MJT (Mike Trice) from Dart castings. I am leaning that way, but another opinion is valued. I have put my question to Gilbert of Peterborough fame. Some others have been helpful. Any help is appreciated. Fortunately I am not in a hurry to do this as I need to finish off some of the Kirk kits I have. These are in pre-war teak though. Thanks Mark
  10. Hi Gilbert, Thats a nice set of coaches you have mustered there. Gresley's and Thompson's, Short, End Vestibules, Brakes, Restaurant, etc. I have been considering a "Wright bodge" using a Hornby 1st Sleeper (red and cream) to convert it to a Composite to add to my set. Both Comet and MJT produce a the same Composite sides Diagram D6/D130. My question is which is the best? I my discussions with a well known builder has suggested MJT (Mike Trice). I am leaning that way, but another opinion is valued. I will put my question to Mr Wright too I think. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Mark

  12. Hi Jim, Mike and others, I have purchased the Skytrex Y6 Tram Engine kit when they were recently produced. I will be building a chassis out of Styrene/Plastic with Alan Gibson OO gauge wheels, etc. I have plenty of these spare at the right size. I was wondering what you did for conrods. Did you buy some or have you made them? Thanks for you help in advance. Photo of my little O gauge layout. Filching Rd Yard. Mark in Oz.
  13. Well Done Tony. Very pleasing. DO post some more. Like the weathering on the stock too. Mark (down south)
  14. Hi Gilbert and Tony, Thanks for showing photos of your Rest Firsts. I have mine in front of me, improving the details, on the undercarriage and roof. Mark in Oz
  15. Hi Tony, I have been meaning to ask this for a while. I have been to China and back. Been on 300km and 430km trains. Talking about WTT. I noticed in your recent book on east coast running on LB, a number of stopping trains listed. How many do you have of these? Can you show/photograph them to us East coast fans/fanatics? I have seen some photos in all these 999+ one pages. Not quite 1000 pages yet. But Congrats in advance. Thanks Mark in Oz
  16. Hi Peter, Looks good. Nice smooth running. Remind me is it DCC or DC? What does your traverser slide on? Is it the timber frame? Mark
  17. Hi Jeff, Hope the day goes well. I was planning to come, but got an offer to play with the big trains today. Well Daylesford Spa Railway are launching their Railmotor, not sure which one, this Saturday. My wife's boss was invited representing the Bendigo Heritage Attractions (Trams, Mine and Joss House here in Bendigo), but he is flying off to Fiji. Lucky man. So the tickets have come to us. So that's where I will be. I have been painting some 6 LNER Gresley 61' coach bodies of late. Will have to take a photo. Layout is looking good too. Mark
  18. While you Northern Hemisphere guys have plenty of snow, we in the antipodes (Australia) are having a heat wave. According to the 'Ground Hog' winter was going to be a long one. So summer is longer here. Just send some snow here. Very enjoyable pictures and Video. Thanks John Mark in OZ
  19. Write it up and I'm sure they will publish it in the Magazine. BRM, Model Rail, Hornby and Railway Modeller would do it. Mark
  20. Congratulations Tony on the award. Well deserved. Keep up the banter. And Photos. Mark
  21. You Hoo! That is good news. I will definitely be getting one. Will have to build the kit too. Only because I have one. And a donation to help the new build G5. Mark
  22. It would be even funnier if you tattooed A4 'Dominion of New Zealand.' Mark
