Thanks for that, as there's also the recent Dapol Class 86 in 80s BR Blue for only £80!

These have had quite a long gestation period. I went back to see when they were originally announced but I stopped when I got as far as the last ice age. Seriously though, the pictures indicate they will be worth the wait.
It was Feb 2013 when they were first announced so it will be well over seven years, when the the MK2f's are finally released. To be honest I am getting really pissed off with these constantly being delayed. I thought that the waiting might finally be over when Bachmann released the release dates, but now it seems that they have moved the winning line again. They are such an important part of modelling the 80s and it's not as if there are any alternatives unless you want to pay daft prices for old Farish ones on Ebay.

Not weird, it’s a commercial decision based on experience. Unfortunately all-First coaches tend to sell in much lower quantities than the others (for obvious reasons) and manufacturers almost always end up stuck with lots of unsold stock. We know we can sell the TSOs and the two Brakes (which share a body shell) but are less certain about an FK. If there proves to be huge demand, we can reconsider later - nothing is set in stone yet.
Right. I didn't realise that the two brakes used the same body shell which makes more commercial sense.

I really appreciated the latest episode where they showed the Autocoach train including how the controls work as I've always wondered exactly what the firmen does when the driver is in the autocoach. Although it was a bit embarrassing for the firemen when the train ran out of steam a few hundred yards from the station!

It's a bit weird that for the MK 2's they are releasing two brake coaches and not any all first/compo coaches.

Was that 25 at Ulverston off the road?
I was so busy admiring the ambiance of the picture that I didn't even notice!

Try Julian Wynn at .... http://taffvale.wales/index.php ......as he now markets the former Derek Mundy kit of the Greenwod & Batley 4wBE.

Blimey, they make kits for every prototype these days! Although I think it's in the wrong scale for Gibbo.

Hi Monty,
First off, apologies to all for being off topic but the above post reminds me that I really ought to pull my finger out and finish my Kearsley models !
Has any one else modelled any of the locomotives featured in this thread ? I do quite like some of the fire-less locomotives shewn.
Funnily enough I had a bunch of pictures of fireless locos bookmarked that I was going to post in a batch so....
Monsanto Chemicals, Newport in June 1972
This one has a GM power plant inside.....
Taylor's Lane Power Station on 24th September 1970.
And here's your next modelling project.....

Very nice footage of Brynlliw from 2:12, with a 37-hauled eastbound coal train (and the M4!) in the background. Brynlliw got much less attention from photographers - published ones at least - than Graig Merthyr, even though it was almost across the road. Fortunately Peckett 1426 survives (just about) in Swansea.
Well I have found quite a few pictures of Brynlliw on Flickr and it sees very modelllable with the compact layout and the loading screens???

I wasn't even aware of Howgill incline until about 10 minutes ago and now I want to build a model of it!
