  1. As regards the track plan, for what period exactly are you seeking such plans and what are the discrepancies which you have found? With some clarity about the 'issues', it might then be possible to answer them.

The period Chris is the late 50's until the closure.

Of all the books i have, i noticed that most are free hand drawings of the area.

I think it was Mac Hawkins book or the C.R. Potts book have good maps but not the best.

    I'll keep looking

  2. If you do a model of Bailey Gate I have done drawings of the main building and signal box if of any use?

    I tried modelling the station.

I looked at the photo's & spent ages counting the bricks !!!!

Somewhere, i still have the photos of BG.

It's still my intention to build BG but i.m struggling to find the correct track plan as the ones i have seen don't match up.

    Bill Coomers book is fantastic.

It's a great shame that the photo's in the book are not clearer.

I wonder if Bill is still alive ?

  3. Morning all,

Too knackered last night to even contemplate turning the computer on, and I'll post some photos a bit later on, but just a quick 'thank you' to everyone who helped make it such a good day, especially those who turned out first thing to help set up and also those who helped clear up at the end of the day. A special thanks of course to the ladies in the catering team, and also to those chaps who spent rather more time in the kitchens than their hobby interests might otherwise indicate, helping with the catering, washing up etc.

Also of course thanks to everyone who brought a layout, display, demo or trade stand. Congratulations to the modular team for the best ever modular set-up, featuring some superb woodwork by Mike (Sidecar Racer) and much, much improved baseboard connecting sections!

I especially liked drawing visitors' attention to 'the layout that came on the train and bus, sitting next to the layout that came on the plane'... well done guys!

There will, of course, be another Members Day at Taunton next April, in 2016, I will confirm the date once I've checked a couple of things.

We certainly did well on the auction and raised a decent amount for The Railway Children. I haven't checked the catering monies yet, but I'll let you all know later when I've had a chance to do this, this evening hopefully.

And on that note Mr Kernow................

  4. I need permission please to bring, i hope, my kit bashed 07 shunter for any poor soul whom wishes to view it ?

As some of you probably noticed a few weeks ago on here, my 07 shunter body melted, so, i got up off my posterior  & did another one.

I have still stuck to building a dual braked 07 shunter.

It's not brilliant but it is not a total pile of poo.

  5. I purchased from hattons a Bachmann 39-777 LMS 50ft Inspection Saloon BR blue & grey for £42.50.

Great service from their shop but alas, yodel have lost the parcel !

Hattons are looking into it but i am unsurethat if they claim from yodel for loss of parcel, will hattons do you think charge me £50 + or will they honour the £42.50 i already paid for it do you think ?

It will be interesting to know
