  1. Any chance of a review. Have heard good things and bad things regarding HPC Alan
  2. Just done my first deep clean without any issues. Beam and power much better. When cleaning the lens should I also clean the mirrors? If so should I use the cleaning wipes? Where can I get replacement wipes and tissues? Alan
  3. Just a bit worried about taken the lens out and not getting it back correctly. Any tips? Alan
  4. Thanks for that Jim Have you used their 3mm mdf before. Just got some in and can not get it to cut even after 8 cuts. after 8 cuts it has hardly marked the mdf. Did notice that it was very shinny. Not sure if that is causing the issues. Alan
  5. sorry no photo available but yes it is the interlocking fingers. This does not always happen only on the odd corner now and then. Alan
  6. Can anybody tell why my finger are bent up. This does not happen not every corner only on a few. Alan

  8. Thaks for yous suggestions. I sure it is you to the height off set as most people are reporting some where arounfd the 2,to 4mm off set. WILL TRY WHEN I get home at the weekend. Alan
  9. I have now been using my new Emblaster 2 for the last few weeks but think I have something wrong in the setting as it takes a lot of cuts (about 7) to get through 3mm Ply. After calibration I set my offset to 9 ( I think this is 9mm). I think this could be the cause of so many cuts required, I have seen people mention 2 to 4 cuts for 3mm ply but I can only get the ply to cut after 7 cuts and this is a speed of 130mm. I set start height to 10.5mm (10mm for bed + 1.5mm that is recommended in the Laserweb software. I also set cut depth to 0.2mm. Are these setting Ok? Is my calibration offset wrong? Am I not doing the calibration correctly? Is there anything else I can do to get it to cut quick like most people are reporting(on Darkly Labs web site they state for 3mm ply about 2 cuts at 300mmm) I am using 3mm Laser ply from Hobarts (not the LaserLite Ply). Any help would be most grafeful. Alan
  10. I found the answer for now, I had some magnetic tool holders that were not being used in various lengths They are only 12mm thick so work a treat. Will look at a metal plate or honeycomb plate when the mats require replacing as the metal plates are a lot cheaper than the replacement mats from Darkly Labs. Alan
  11. I find that it will not hold down at the back due to the size of the mat. I am thinking about printing some clamps with magnets for the back. Is it ok to use magnets i side the machine. Alan
  12. Been having some issues with the number of cuts require for some sheets I have. I then noticed that some of my wood is bowing a bit. What is the best way of keeping the wood flat. Alan
  13. Too add to my last post. I have also found these (http://www.slecuk.com/balsa-wood/1.5-x-300-x-600mm--1-16-12--x-24---PW302.html) It states t obe laserply but says it contains resin. Is this OK to laser. Alan
  14. I am after some 1.5mm ply. I have seen on the Hobarts site that they have 2 option a exterior grade Birch plywood and a Laserply. There is a big difference in price between the 2 about £5 more for the Laserply. Would it be OK to use the exterior grade Birch plywood on the Emblaster 2 ? I have also found a supplier on ebay (http://stores.ebay.co.uk/laserply/) with some good rices and no postage charge. Has anybody order from them. Alan
  15. Martin Thanks for the help, will go along way getting me going Hopefullly one day I can make something as good as yours. Jim Thanks for the link, most helpful. Alan
