    A budget announcement to improve train services between Manchester and Sheffield. Anyone up for an electrified mainline between the two..... It could be the first in the country!

      Red herring alert: "will extend the Northern Hub, adding to the electrification of the transpennine rail route, by upgrading the Hope Valley line between Manchester and Sheffield", translates to "as well as existing electrification, we'e adding some loops betwen M & S"
